The total duration start to finish is close to three hours. Solar output starts to drop immediately when the moon starts to block the sun.

I’d like to see the same chart when a weather event covers the sky with clouds. I suspect that also causes the PV output power to diminish.

Clouds have a bigger effect - who knew!

See figure 3.

In many places clouds are pretty common, much more common than eclipses, and probably harder to plan for.
