Even more so ... our appointed government officials and civil servants.

Want to find a domestic enemy of the Bill of Rights? Go stand outside your local police station, watch 'em come and go.

The unelected federal judiciary is tops on my list for those who oppose the Bill of Rights. The judiciary often declares that an individual's constitutional rights must be "balanced" (meaning trumped) by any interest of the state. Even when the individual is determined to have a right, a government official may claim "immunity" from civil damages for violating individual rights from these judges. Then factor in court rulings limiting the time to file claims, and constitutional rights can shrivel up to so many empty words. Remember that the Bill of Rights was an afterthought to the elites who met secretly in Philadelphia to draft a new constitution, which came in to force contrary to the existing Articles of Confederation.

It’s pretty scary fighting for anything in our country nowadays until we get an administration we can trust. This present one isn’t quite it.
