Hey, I'm no doctor but even I could've told you this would eventually happen.

Correlation is not causation. I listen to this but reserve judgement until further research is done.

“Correlation is not causation.”

Correlation, causation discussion

While it’s true that correlation does not always imply causation, it’s also important to recognize that correlation can often provide valuable insights and suggest potential causal relationships.

1. **Directionality**: In some cases, the correlation between two variables can indicate a causal relationship. For example, smoking and lung cancer are correlated, and extensive research has shown that smoking causes lung cancer.

2. **Consistency with Theory**: Correlation that aligns with established scientific theories can provide strong evidence for causation. For instance, if a new drug is correlated with improved health outcomes, and its mechanism of action aligns with known biological processes, it strengthens the case for causation.

3. **Temporal Relationship**: Establishing a temporal relationship between variables, where the cause precedes the effect, can bolster the argument for causation. Observing changes in one variable before changes in another can suggest a causal link.

4. **Replication**: Correlation observed across multiple studies, conducted by different researchers using diverse methodologies, increases confidence in a causal relationship. Replication helps rule out alternative explanations and strengthens the case for causation.

5. **Controlled Experiments**: While not always feasible or ethical, controlled experiments allow researchers to manipulate variables and establish causation more definitively. Correlation observed within controlled experiments can be strong evidence for causation.

Therefore, while correlation alone may not prove causation, it can serve as a starting point for further investigation and, when combined with other evidence, can support robust conclusions about causal relationships.

Probably the same when they stick a scope up one’s butt, but Big Pharma hasn’t approved disclosing it, yet.

Cutting back on carbs and getting your blood sugar under control can do much the same thing.

Here’s the key excerpt from the article on why the patients taking Ozempic are more likely to aspirate food during an endoscopy:

Dr Rezaie said that GLP-1 medications may lead to aspiration pneumonia ahead of an endoscopy because the drugs slow digestion, which makes food sit in the stomach longer.

As a result, the stomach may not be completely empty while a patient fasts, which is required before an endoscopy to get a clear picture.

This could cause choking because while a person is under general anesthesia, contents from the stomach may move up to the mouth and enter the trachea and the lungs.

It is recommended to go a specific number of hours without eating or drinking before you have an endoscopy (or any surgery). Ozempic slows food from passing out of the stomach, thus you are more likely to still have food in the stomach at the end of that time.

I expect that the simple way to handle this is to extend the fasting time if you are taking Ozempic.

I guess this is because these E-Z Pills cause the stomach to empty out more slowly. That would throw the fasting times for endoscopies off.

No E-Z pills for me. I’ll just keep eating fewer calories.

Health does not come from pills unless you are actually sick.

Eating too much and getting fat is your body functioning normally. Your cholesterol level is your body functioning normally. Taking a pill when your body is functioning as it should is stupid and can only lead to problems.

Eating real food fixes it. People are fed Frankenfoods in this nation, for the most part.

Shame on them. Start the day off with cocoa frosted sugar bomb cereal for breakfast, hot dogs and tater tots for lunch and finish up with fried chicken and waffles for supper. For snacks, nothing easier than pop tarts. And I drink no more than two liters of soda a day.

On their death certificate, they will be listed 60#’s lighter than they would if they died being their normal fat selves.
Maybe they could go from Exotically obese to Morbidly Obese.

Sad, that these overweights couldn’t simply push back from the table, adjust their carbs, exercise, etc.

This is non issue if doctors are aware.

Seems like only an issue if you have endoscopy.

So if you need one your doctor should know if you are on drugs so they can mitigate risks

There you go, injecting common sense into the mix.
