A lot of words in this article. The author could have saved time, along withe the authors of the rural rage book, by citing two tracts they have probably never read because of an ideoloical blind spot:

America’s Ruling Class by Angelo Codevilla

And

The Vision of the Anointed: Self-Congratulation as a Basis for Social Policy by Thomas Sowell

And I might add for the political operatives: reading those items in order to figure out how to “fake it” won’t help.

Is the follow-up book going to be titled “Black Urban Rage”?

White rural Americans are the ones who made the difference during the Revolution. Just saying...

Making total war on the people who grow your food.

Even a city boy like me gets why this is a bad idea.
Even if farmers are not "our sort" old boy.

The ruling class always used to get it, even while robbing farmers.

It drives the fuggin’ urban thugs, thieves, killers, rapists, drug addicts, driveby shooters and morons over the edge when Jason Aldean sings “Try That In A Small Town”. Obviously, city thugs have a different opinion of themselves and see themselves a lot differently than the rest of the world does.

I think the article in Politico is correct in that it’s not rural rage, it’s rural resentment. Those are two different things.

Of course, the leftists want to define it as rage so they can gather enough people who would like to kill the rural way of life.

If they succeed, it will be to their own peril.

Alex Jones is all over this. Trump is right. The target is self reliant types not in cities who don’t see the need for a babysitter government. We are on our way to being purged.

It is far simpler, liberal elites believe that anyone who who doesn’t live in the liberal utopias on the east and west coasts and espouse their liberal viewpoint are knuckle dragging idiots who are incapable of making the “ right” decisions in their lives. Therefore the liberal elites must make these decisions for them. The liberal elites also view those in flyover country with utter contempt …remember Obama’s “ bitter clingers” or Hillary’s “ basket of deplorables”?

However, what the liberal elites miss is that these “ deplorables” put food on their tables, keep their store shelves full, deliverer goods across the country , fix their cars and toilets and manufacture many of the luxuries they take for granted.

I read the article (maybe one should not admit that, tho’) and thought he made a really good point:

Reasonable people resent ... irrational people rage. Reasonable people can be engaged.

Also interesting that that author felt his work was mis-used in the book.

It’s a good article, especially coming from Politico. The money paragraph:

Bottom line: The “threats” to democracy just aren’t there. Our research found that just 27 percent of rural voters — including 23 percent of rural Trump voters — think that if the opposing candidate wins in November, “people will need to take drastic action in order to stop [Biden or Trump] from taking office.” That’s the exact same proportion — 27 percent — as voters in urban and suburban areas who hold the same view. Nor are rural voters more likely than urban voters to say that the opposing party is a “threat to the future of America;” while 38 percent of rural Trump voters strongly believe that about Democrats, 36 percent of nonrural Biden voters think that same thing about Republicans.

I’ll repeat myself. The far left progressives are actually lily white. Nearly seven-in-ten Progressive Left (68%) are White adults, making this group less racially and ethnically diverse than the other Democratic-oriented groups.

Yet, these chiefly white folks hold extremist views not JUST on race…

…but on a plethora of matters. Indeed, this lot holds more extreme views overall than those held by more racially-diverse Dem groups.

These whites live in enclaves in cities, prefer going to museums over going to the range, and think religion is sophistry. Their policies and language all reek of a Superiority Complex.

The REAL intent behind the “rage” lie they push, is provocation. The provocateurs on the left blame rurals, their cousins on the right blame the urbanites. I’ve seen this movie before. The question is: will we ants recognize the TRUE fiend?
