They want to turn on the TV and watch Ohio State v. USC and Texas v. Michigan.

We'll see. The NBA had their "bud light" moment and never truly recovered. It's possible that College Football may have killed the golden goose.

Last year the University of Texas athletic program had ~$165 million in revenue, Georgia had $155 million while Vanderbilt had $~33 million and West Virginia had ~$20 million.

The rich schools in the current conferences should not have to subsidize the less wealth.

The first major casualty was the Pacific Athletic Conference. ACC will follow soon.

If the game is entertaining or if it is a school I have an interest in then I will watch. The one rivalry game that I always watch is the Saturday night USC versus Norte Dame game.
