Kato Kaelin, a key witness during O.J. Simpson's murder trial in 1995, issued a video statement Thursday afternoon offering his condolences to Simpson's family following the ex-NFL star's death.
"Foremost, I'd like to express my condolences to the children to Sydney and to Justin to Jason and Arnelle," Kaelin said in the message shared to X, formerly Twitter. "They've lost their father and that is never easy."
Simpson's family announced on Thursday that their father has passed away at the age of 76 after battling cancer.
Simpson played 11 NFL seasons, nine of them with the Buffalo Bills. He won four NFL rushing titles and played in five Pro Bowls. He later had a career in show business before being acquitted in a 1995 trial of charges he killed his former wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.
Kaelin also addressed the families of Goldman and Brown Simpson.
"I wish to express my love and compassion to the Goldmans, to Fred into Kim. "I hope you find closure," he said. "And finally, to the family of the beautiful Nicole Brown Simpson. May we always cherish her memories. Nicole was a beacon of light that burden bright. May we never forget her."

It’s hard to believe it has been 30 years. I had forgotten how the trial went on and on.
I’ve always wondered about that guy’s involvement. Followed the case fairly closely as my wife looks like Nicole’s twin.
Is there a statute of limitations for 'journalists' to use that phrase, "X, formerly Twitter."?

I met him when working at Paramount and he was the NICEST guy ever. He definitely did have his 15 minutes of fame. Only 15.
I remember I had a small TV set up in my office and I and my only employee at the time watched that trial all day everyday while we worked. We were shocked when he got off.

I saw “Witness Releases Video”. I thought that meant Kato was releasing a video showing OJ’s absolute guilt in the murders.
I’ll never forget the testimony of the DNA expert. The blood at the scene, in the floorboard of the Bronco, and on the carpet matched to such a degree that it was like one chance in five billion that all that blood came from anybody other than the two victims. That should have been the end right there.
It’s was a “stick it to whitey” defense.
We know he murdered them.
You know he murdered them.
But find him not guilty to tell The Man go f yourself.
That’s the actual defense they made. And it worked.
Go look at the racial demographics of crime per the FBI. Blacks choose to live in a world of crime by letting criminals walk free.
May OJ rot in Hell and anyone who defended him suffer the same fate.
Black women did not like that he married a blonde.

I remember it like it was yesterday, how devastated I was when that murdering prick was set free..the butcher went back to brentwood was heard all over the city of LA..maybe NOW some of those witnesses will be willing to tell the TRUTH since OJ is dead..I wonder those who were at the hospice center, did OJ confess before he met his maker

Every single lawyer on that defense team was reprehensible.
I think every one of those attorneys is dead except for Dershowitz!!!
And Dad killed their mom, which makes it even more difficult.
No black jury was going to convict Simpson; it was payback pure and simple for prior injustices done to other blacks.
