Some people didn't/don't like this song for one reason or another. Not sure why. It's a damn near masterpiece imo.
Count me in as one who still likes this song š
Every year is the Year of the Cat at my house.
Just ask Daisy, who rules the house and Blackie the handsome feral who comes for dinner every night.
Anyway, greet song. Thanks.
Classic masterpiece..........
Definitely don’t like. Can’t really explain except that it grates, almost like finger nails on a chalkboard.
Sorry. His voice is SOOOOO G@Y.
Me too. I have an 18 year old siamese girl who’s got some issues at her age, obviously. I thought about it the other day and for well over 30 years I’ve had 1 or 2 cats in this house. This one will be toughest of all. Who the hell will I talk to? Hah!
Maybe because cats are major murderers and torturers of birds? That's at least part of it.
I hate this song.
It is one of the few āIām changing the channelā songs on XM Yacht Rock.
Mrs DB loves this song, so I often have to suffer through it.
A truly great song.
Cats are gonna cat.
They are predators.
Itās the circle of life.
Now, deer in the neighborhood eating my bushes? Kill āem all.
It makes me laugh all the clowns who think they can do a better job of mixing than the professional sound engineer the artist himself hired to do it in the first place.
I would rather be drawn and quartered than listen to that song.
Born in Scotland, raised in Dorset, and gaining fame in London, Stewart moved to Los Angeles shortly after the release of Year of the Cat. He was married to Kristine from 1993 to 2005. He subsequently married Jill on 12 September 2020.
Yeah, but at least you don’t know what his politics are because he just sings. Most of his songs are historical. Roads to Moscow being one of my favorites. Very chilling. Old Admirals kind of sad. Saw him in concert once and he was great. BTW, he has always been married to women (2).
Nope...my gaydar is very strong and it reads zero for this song.
Go to Africa...as I have...and you’ll develop a respect for at least some cats.
There are a couple of lines in this song that are just sensational imo. You all know which ones they are - one involving Peter Lorre and another mentioning a dress.
2023 was actually the Year of the Cat. ‘24 is the Year of the Dragon.
I like the song. I was born in the Year of the Cat.
