The defense lawyer is incompetent.

No matter who hands you a gun, you are obligated to determine whether it is loaded.

Go into a gun store and give the clerk a gun you wish to sell or trade. What is the first thing he does?

He drops the mag and then racks the slide, thus assuring himself tht the gun is not loaded, and if so that process unloads it.

That will be the procedure for a pistol. If it is a revolver, whether double or single action,k the cylinder will be examined chamber by chamber to assure that it is not loaded.

The Armour was careless in not examining the revolver, but unless she is the one who secretly loaded the gun knowing how reckless mr nasty is, sentencing her is not reasonable.

The Armour was careless in not examining the revolver,
= = =

Correct me if necessary, but I think she was busy with other tasks (Armorer should not be busy with other), and someone else handed Alec the revolver.
