Vanity and Song: I've never been to me (Number 1 song hated most by feminists, cows on the view, etc?)

I've been undressed by kings And I've seen some things that a woman ain't s'posed to see I've been to paradise but I've never been to me... Hey, you know what paradise is? It's a lie A fantasy we created about people and places As we like them to be But you know what truth is? It's that little baby you're holding And it's that man you fought with this morning The same one you are gonna make love to tonight That's truth that's love

Heard this song this morning on way home from Airport. Got to thinking, this could very well be a song today's feminists, cows on the TV the view, the Megan Rapinoe's, Jennifer Aniston's etc of the world would probably hate the most. Especially the bridge where she talks. It's pretty and awesome and what a message. If you have a daughter..you may want her to hear it....Thanks.

I hate that song. Hated it when it came out. Still hate it today. If I could rank my least favorite songs, this would be up there. It still pops into my head now and then. Thanks. You popped it into my head today. Bleh.

Oh, wow! I remember when this song came out; I remember feminists railing against it. That was in the late 70s, no internet.

I’ve always considered it a deep and meaningful song of a woman who found truth.

It doesn’t mention God but I think conservatives can hear the meaning in it.

Look in wikipedia for the definition of maudlin and you’ll find this song.

Yes, the song contains basic Judeo Christian values which the left detest. Values that lead to joy and fulfillment as only God can provide.

Yes, kind of the Anti “I am woman” song. I love it. I think young girls should hear it too. Especially in today’s world.

Yeah, where she talks about having kids and a marriage instead of whoring around.....awful.

You have always come off as a shallow and immature person, there is so much about everything that you don’t understand, which is why you constantly post like a snarky teenager.

Here’s the song that feminists love:

Absolutely it tells a story. And I can’t think of a more appropriate time than now for young girls to hear it. What a Godly beautiful message.

Take out the man and little baby phrases and it’s got a sappy tone and “Me Decade” message that decent conservatives can hate too: “I’ve never been to me”—yuck!

Maybe that’s because I’ve never been to me? (good holy Lord, what an awful song)

Yes, the song contains basic Judeo Christian values which the left detest. Values that lead to joy and fulfillment as only God can provide.

Such as this line:
"Sometimes I've been to crying for unborn children
That might have made me complete"

I heard this song for the first time today, when I clicked on this thread. I thought it was from 2024, but I Googled it and learned that it released in 1977 and fell flat, then was re-released in 1982 and became a hit.
