In the end, Clark is in line for an eight-year deal that could end up being worth $28 million and a signature shoe, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The sharp-shooting Clark’s previous deal with Nike was inked in 2022 and expired following this past season — and after the six-foot Clark cemented herself as not just the most well-known women’s college hoopster, but arguably the most popular college basketball player — male or female — last season.

The negotiations reached a fierce pace, according to the Wall Street Journal, at NBA All-Star weekend in mid-February, when Clark’s representatives from Excel Sports Management met with brands like Adidas, Under Armour and Puma — in addition to Nike — and told them they were looking for a $3 million per year deal as a starting point.

Plus she’ll be able to sue the WNBA for all the racial slurs that’ll be hurled at her.
Awesome.
Isn’t this rayciss or something?
You think THOSE are the slurs?

She uses a soccer ball.
I don’t remember her name, but some WNBA player retired early, because she said she was bullied for being straight. And she was black.
I had heard that people were paying $1000 a ticket for the Dallas Wings game where she’s coming.
I bet they normally don’t even get 1,000 people to go to their games. And it least they’ll be some straight people in the crowd.
The WNBA three point line is a little closer than the NBA.
I just looked it up. The claimed average attendance of the Dallas Wings is 4,641. A lot of teams in pro sports inflate those numbers, and I bet a lot of WNBA tickets are given away, but that’s the stat, for what it is.
And most of the attendees most likely live in Oak Lawn, if you catch my drift.
Probably Candace Wiggins.
Anyone who can make a buck off their talent and fame, well, God bless them. But please, just bounce a ball and shut up about politics.
Amazing how much value this society puts on people who can dribble a ball, throw a football, punch someone in the head...
Exactly. She’s getting paid what she’s worth.
Please, oh please, let Nike become the Bud Lite of poorly made athletic shoes.
WNBA Ball Size: 28.5” circumference
NBA Ball Size: 29.5” circumference
WNBA rim diameter is exactly 18 inches mirroring the standard of the NBA.
Just doin’ some math.
I say, good for Caitlin Clark. I’m sure Brittany Griner et al are jealous.
From the little I watched, playing defense is either discouraged, or illegal.
