Javier Loya accepted a class B misdemeanor charge.
Javier Loya, one of the owners of the Houston Texans, will finally be able to sleep peacefully. Eleven months after he was charged with an account for rape, a judge dismissed the case and fined him $100 for a lesser charge.
Loya, a minority shareholder in the franchise, was found not guilty of the seven charges he faced and, in exchange, accepted a charge of "harassment with intent to annoy."
Although the NFL has not yet addressed the matter, the specialized media expect the league will impose some sanction since its policies strictly prohibit "stalking, harassment, or similar forms or intimidation."
The businessman was suspended from any team activity since May 2023, when the charges were filed. Regardless of other sanctions, the league could reinstate his rights now that the charges were dismissed.
Loya maintains his innocence
Loya's attorney, Andrew J. Sarne, explained that although his client accepted a charge of harassment with intent to annoy, which is a class B misdemeanor, he still maintains his innocence.
Sarne explained that the process has been difficult for the businessman and his family. However, "throughout this ordeal, Mr. Loya had unwavering faith in the legal system despite enduring intense public scrutiny and prejudgment before due process was completely afforded to him."
Now that the judge has issued his verdict, "Mr. Loya will focus on family and a return to normality," the lawyer said.
Who is Javier Loya?
Javier Loya is a businessman and entrepreneur. In 1994, he and two partners founded Choice! Energy Services, a company in the energy and utility management industry. Loya acquired complete control of the company in 2000.
Loya was one of the founding partners of the Texans and was the first owner of Hispanic origin in the NFL. In his college days, he played linebacker for the Columbia Lions but never came close to making the NFL.
Guess Jerry Jones isn’t the only slimeball NFL owner in Texas.
So what exactly did he do besides annoy her?
They pretty much all are, right? Kraft, Tepper, the former Panther’s owner, Schneider, Jed York, and on and on.
“Well, you did a little bit of raping, so we’ll give you a fine to possibly dissuade you from keeping up with the raping, how does that sound?”
He owns less than or 1% of the Texans.
I remember reading about this case when the charges came out.
