Although I certainly can’t blame em for carrying these days, that situation, in and of itself, could potentially create a much bigger issue in a close quarters confine, especially with small churches....everybody would be shooting everybody.
We put in place a more formal security approach. We know that even though every situation/scenario is different, we try to plan and train for the most likely ones.
FWIW, most of our congregation, including those that carry, know to “hit the floor” on the first gunshot because the security team is going to immediately address the threat.
He would have been dropped in the parking lot if he displayed at our church or caught fire from two or three directions inside the church. Pastor is lucky.
