San Francisco, California, USA -- For most people, tech gear is straightforward and utilitarian. You buy a modem or a computer or a piece of software to perform a task. Once you're done with it, it's obsolete and ready for the landfill if you can't find a charity or a friend to take it off your hands. I mean, what are you going to do with it -- start a collection?

SCSI scanner, not a very good one.

I'm really just joking. I got a new system and got rid of most of my old stuff, but the old scanner is still cluttering up the area. I'll dispose of it soon, I'm sure.

I just threw out about half of my computer-related stuff. Still quite a bit remaining, but I figured I really didn't need a PC-XT, nor an unused sample copy of Wordstar v.7 and manuals (that thing weighed a ton), nor lots of the other stuff. Kept my VIC-20 though.

I had a bunch of stuff before I moved to my small place near the beach. Boxes of IBM system Journals , etc!
