But according to the creationists, nothing existed more than 6 thousand years ago. I guess they ignore threads like this.

"you'd figure the next such event was about 30 million years in the future, starting from today."

It was only 75,000 years ago that Toba exploded and only about 2,000 humans worldwide survived.

That's sort of hard to buy off on. As I understand it you've got a couple of dating systems including dendrochronology and radiocarbon dating which will date things from the present back to about 30,000 years ago and then you've got decay type dating systems which will let you fix approximate dates in millions of years, but I'm not really aware of anything which will fix dates in the 50,000 - 100,000 year old range.

They look a little like trash, and indeed that’s what
some of them are. A visitor to the Oregon coast didn’t need them and cast them aside, probably not even looking at
where they fell. But these aren’t a pop can and candy wrapper cast carelessly aside by a thoughtless contemporary tourist. This tourist visited the Oregon coast roughly 12,000 years
ago and left behind chips of rock at the spot where he or she had fashioned a stone tool. This collection of tiny stone flakes—along with what researchers call “expedient tools” and other signs of their presence—form an exciting piece in a jigsaw puzzle that someday may tell us how humans first came to the Americas......

Interesting read! I am curious about the Soulitean travelers Could a north atlantic Atlantis type of land bridge have been the key? Trade between Ireland and Spain is historic.
