Tell the SciFi Channel you're not going to watch Children of Dune because of Susan Sarandon's outrageous anti-American leftist drivel!

More info please. Is Sarandon in this mini-series? Help us out :).
To: Black Agnes
Yes, the porcupine is .
To: PlanoMike
I don't know man...I really wanna see that. I was thinking about boycotting it but it just looks so darn cool!
To: org.whodat
Tee hee. Porcupine? Sarandon is a has been hag. Sad that they ruined what could have been a good miniseries/movie with that beaten old bag.
To: PlanoMike
When is it on?
To: Black Agnes
Yes, she's in it. Here's a link to the Sci-Fi page about her character:

How about I don't watch Children of Dune because I thought their first Dune miniseries blew chunks. Great script but apparently everybody involved in the production ignored every single discriptive paragraph in the book, nothing and no one looked even remotely like it should have. While Lynch's script sucked at least he made it look like Dune.

SciFi fan ping?
To: PlanoMike
I don't think so. If you boycotted every actor who's a leftist, you might as well crack open War and Peace instead of watching the idjit box. Whether the miniseries is any good or not is another story. I like David Lynch's version better too - better visual design - and if you don't include the horrific *deformities* of the Guild Navigators, what's the point?

What's more important, your core values or a possibly good hour or two of TV?
To: PlanoMike
Is Susan playing the role of one of those worm thingies?
To: valkyrieanne
Duh, what's more important, your core values or TV?
To: PlanoMike
Considering that they're likely gonna ass-rape the storyline anyway, I wasn't planning on it.....

BTW, although I've seen the Musical Chicago in London, and the music is fantastic, I'm not going to see the Movie due to that ---hole Gere!

Like Chiraq, Sarandon est un ver!
To: PlanoMike
Damn.
SciFi has done so much to piss me off over the past couple of years - not picking up "Crusade," cancelling "Farscape," 'reimaging' "Battlestar Galactica," all missteps on their part.
I guess this is yet another nail in the coffin. No, wait, wasn't Sarandon in "Dead Man Walking" along with Sean Penn?

I'll probably watch it because...
- She's not as loathsome as Hanoi Jane of Vanessa Redgrave.
- I'm not going to put money directly into her pocket, unlike, say, going to a movie.
Anyhow, to me, Sarandon will always be the 'Slut' from RHPS.

A close friend of mine has characterized
Dune (the books, the movies weren't out at the time) as "Bugger Brigadoon in Outer Space".
Having read them all, I agreed.
Having wasted several hours on that crapola back when, I'm certainly wasting no more now.

Thanks for the info. I too wanted to see this show...but that is just exactly what people like Susan Sarandon count on. I will sacrifice my personal enjoyment to make a statement against the woman.
