Summers, who ran against ultra-liberal Tom Allen in 2004, is probably the best chance we have of winning this district.

That’s going to leave him with only a month to get the nomination. Judging from the names on the Dem side, that could get really brutal for them. Dem Chellie Pingree is a moonbat, so hopefully she gets the nod after a nice bloody primary, presuming our nominee is well-funded.

Is Summers one of us, or is he from the Snowe/Collins mold?

More conservative than Snowe and Collins, but not as conservative as we are. This is New England, after all.

That’s all we’ll get. Even the twin RINOs are better than the insanely far left ‘rats in Maine. Snowe won re-election last year by almost a 3-1 margin.

“More conservative than Snowe and Collins, but not as conservative as we are. This is New England, after all.”
Not only is it New England, it is the most liberal of the four congressional districts in Maine and New Hampshire. We should give greater leeway to a GOP candidate in the ME-01 than we would in the ME-02, for example, which is several points more Republican than the ME-01 and is actually represented by a pro-life Democrat.
