GOP candidate needed to run against Henry Cuellar in Texas 28. This Dem will get automatically re-elected unless someone files by Jan. 4. This district runs southwest from San Antonio to McAllen. There must be someone who could run! See the Texas GOP website for a list of candidates who have filed.
There shouldn’t be any Democrat left challenged.
Appalling this Republican district could go without a GOP candidate.
Oops, correction, got that mixed up with TX-23. This is Dem-leaning, but still should not go without a GOP challenge.
Didn’t he represent the 23rd once before? It was an understandable error.
Cuellar didn’t represent it, but he did run against Henry Bonilla. Ciro Rodriguez represented the 28th and was defeated by Cuellar in the ‘04 primary, but Rodriguez then ran in the 23rd in ‘06 and took out Bonilla. That’s where I momentarily got them confused.
Cueller is actually one of the more reasonable ‘Rats.
It’s funny how it worked out. Ciro Rodriguez (needs to go) is in a more Republican district than the more moderate Cuellar.
Cuellar or any rat in that district is not likely to lose but the seat is not safely rat. Obama won it by 12 points.
Anyhow there ARE GOP candidates for this seat it looks like. I don’t know if the Texas GOP site is behind or if they failed to file yet?

That article mentions another candidate too Bryan Underwood. No website I can find (politics1 omits him) but a facebook page.

Bryan Underwood is running in District 28 against Henry Cuellar. He is a small business owner and a Reagan conservative. He has a facebook page under Bryan Underwood for Congress. I think he would be a great official for this district.
