(CNN) - The newest member of the Senate will soon hit the 2010 campaign trail for Arizona Sen. John McCain.

A McCain source confirms Sen. Scott Brown, R-Massachusetts, will campaign with the 2008 Republican presidential nominee in early March. McCain is facing a primary challenge from former Rep. J.D. Hayworth.

Why are all these Republicans rushing to help out McCain! McCain is a LOSER! He lost, his ideology LOST. Are the Republicans ever going to learn? We should not be like the Democrats, we should not prop up our losers! A lost election should not be a resume enhancer. Leave that to the Dems.

I see the lessons of 2006 and 2008 still have not sunk in with the 100%er crowd.

Only God is perfect. Nothing of men ever is. Demanding perfect purity in Politics is a sure prescription for political irrelevance. This is why the Libertarian wing of the Conservative movement has been so completely ineffective for the last 20 years. This is why you people always lose to the RINOS. They all keep wasting all their time making the perfect the enemy of the good. They are so busying spending all their time worrying about the dogmatic purity in their political allies they never have any time, or energy left to fight the Leftists on anything.

They are so busy factionalizing their political base into competing interest groups, they have nothing left to ever fight the progressives. No wonder they continually kick the conservatives asses in election after election.

As one famous Conservative leader said " A man who agrees with me 80% of the time is a trusted friend and ally, not a 20% traitor"

Curious what these sort of ideological purist would of said about a President who presided over a worse recession then this current one, appointed a Liberal to the Supreme Court, Raised taxes 6 times, doubled the size of the Fed Budget in 8 years. Spent, prior to this regime, record deficits. Ran away from a Muslim terrorist threat. Signed an illegal Alien Amnesty. Lost control of the US Senate to the Democrats on his watch.

What would you say about that? Using the sort of purist dogma exposed on this thread, and every other possible thread daily, I suspect, the 100%er crowd would be screaming "RINO" at that former President and assigning him to rank down there with Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, U.S. Grant, and Warren Harding as one of America’s worst Presidents because he did not pass their personal ideological purity test.

That President was Ronald Reagan. Probably the greatest President of the 20th Century.

Reagan had words for your sort of ideological 100%er.

By Ronald Reagan in his autobiography An American Life “When I began entering into the give and take of legislative bargaining in Sacramento, a lot of the most radical conservatives who had supported me during the election didn’t like it. “Compromise” was a dirty word to them and they wouldn’t face the fact that we couldn’t get all of what we wanted today. They wanted all or nothing and they wanted it all at once. If you don’t get it all, some said, don’t take anything. I’d learned while negotiating union contracts that you seldom got everything you asked for. And I agreed with FDR, who said in 1933: ‘I have no expectations of making a hit every time I come to bat. What I seek is the highest possible batting average.’ If you got seventy-five or eighty percent of what you were asking for, I say, you take it and fight for the rest later, and that’s what I told these radical conservatives who never got used to it.”

Juan McAmnesty will not retire. Even though he should. His ego simply will not allow him to. He cannot abide by being irrelevant, even though he already is and has been for quite some time.

As for Brown, he’s new. I will cut him some slack. But he should know better than to hitch his horse to RINO McAmnesty.

McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform
McCain-Kennedy Immigration Reform

Should be enough to finish him.

Palin has a debt to be paid. Hopefully McCain will lose to J.D. Hayworth in the primary, though I doubt it.

Um, in case you haven't noticed, I'm supporting J.D. Hayworth, a man with whom I do have disagreement, based on his record in Congress.

Yet you once again break out your tired accusations of my being a "purist."

Fool.

Have you even read my posts lately?

I want McCain gone, so we don't end up with 2+ years of an unholy Graham-McCain-Obama trifecta fragging conservatives at every opportunity.

If Hayworth doesn't win the Arizona primary, then conservative Arizonans (or should I say, residents of Aztlan, should McCain have his way) might as well vote for the Democrat in the general election, since either way, a liberal Democrat is going to win, barring a strong third-party challenge (highly unlikely).

Why does McCain have an 81.4% life time rating from the American Conservative Union?

Why does Ron Paul only have an 82.40 life time rating from the ACU?

Doesn’t that mean, based on your world view, Ron Paul is now a RINO too?

Brown I can at least understand campaigning for McCain - don’t like it, but at least its understandable. Palin, on the other hand....well, her apologists can make all the excuses about “loyalty” they want. Those are the same arguments that were made to justify going along with all the fiscal nonsense that bush pushed off onto us, too - “loyalty.”

For the Palinites, I would ask, where’s her loyalty to the country and to conservatism? Or does her loyalty only extend to those who have personally done something for her?

This thread has absolutely nothing to do with Ron Paul, who, incidentally, had an ACU rating of 90 for the year 2008.

As for ACU ratings, if you want to bring that up, McStain has a rating of 63 for the year 2008, and that's on the votes he didn't miss! That puts him to the LEFT of Graham's 82 for the year 2008, and everyone here knows Graham is NO conservative (based on his co-sponsorship of the Graham-Schumer amnesty and the Graham-Lieberman-Kerry cap-and-tax).

Sarah owes MeCain, I don't like it but I understand it.

If she's not careful she will get sucked into that Beltway Stink'n Think'n.

She's always boasted about being outside the GOP inner circle, I hope she stays that way.

So yet again, your only response is to scream hysteric bile at everyone who does not march 100% in lockstep with your personal political opinions.

Try answering the question for a change instead of screaming in hysterics.

If McCain is a RINO, despite having a life time rating for 81.4 from the ACU, doesn't that mean Ron Paul is ALSO a RINO since he only scores 82.4?

thank you for the corrected information

There’s a big difference between purity, and “McCain-Feingold”. Between purity and amnesty. Between being lectured down to about what a “fine gentleman” obama was in 2008 (while he was calling Sarah a pig and giving McCain the finger

McCain looks OLD and acts erratic. He is not a maverick, but a cranky OLD patronizing egomaniac with delusions of having some influence in the Senate. The GOP surely can do better.

Don’t care at all for McCain’s “Batman and Robin” routine with Linsey and his “Cap and Trade” nonsense, either

And so the game plan begins, separation of the “Conservatives” from the “Republicans” from the “Tea Parties”, that tactic was only declared a week ago and rapidly put into effect by the Democrats and their State Run Media, and further giving credence to those posting as Republican Conservatives, Rush refers to them as seminar callers

You are not answering the question, you are just screaming hysterically at everyone who has a different view then yours.

Odd, that is exactly the same sort of debate tactics we Conservatives are use to seeing directed at us by Leftists.

Answer the question.

Since Ron Paul only scores a 1% better in the American Conservative Union rankings then McCain, why do you not consider him a RINO too?

Why does McCain have an 81.4% life time rating from the American Conservative Union?

Sigh.

Again...It is incredibly misleading to tout McJuan's "lifetime" rating from the ACU. Look at his present performance, brother. (Hint: The rating is in the 60's.)

And...again...to me, touting McQueeg's lifetime rating is a little like saying "General Motors is a Blue Chip stock." In the past, certainly. Now?
