Does A Palin Endorsement Matter? You Betcha!

Sarah Palin's still got it.

After a few strikeouts during the campaign season, the former Alaska governor saw three of the four candidates she endorsed sail to victory -- or move on to a runoff -- in Tuesday's primary elections. While one of them was the frontrunner well before Palin got involved, two of those candidates were trailing far behind until she stepped to their side.

Palin downplayed her impact on Wednesday, telling Fox News that "any credit given to me is way overblown." She credited the "message" of the candidates, particularly the women she calls the "mama grizzlies."

"Perhaps an endorsement can shift just a tiny bit of momentum in some cases, and I think that's what we saw. But it certainly wasn't me as an individual," she said.

While the victories don't mean Palin was the only factor in those races, political analysts said they certainly show she is a factor.(continued)

Sarah endorsed the conservative Hispanic woman in NM’s governor’s primary race ten days before the election. In a field of five, Susana Martinez was running neck and neck with the former state GOP chair, Allen Weh who was spending big bucks in all the media. On election day she crushed Weh and all the others with a 52 or 53 percentage win to Weh’s 28%. Martinez now has a good chance to win the governor’s office against Richardson’s Lt. Gov, also a woman.

Sorry to say I do not see that happening. With McCain's huge warchest, chits called in and Sarah, JD is climbing a steep hill.

If a Palin thread is not enough of an excuse to follow the rules, I don’t know what is.

Interesting that she's not tooting her own horn. How refreshing!
