Sarah Palin 2012: Pragmatic Palin Picks Show Political Acumen

Sarah Palin 2012? The pragmatic Palin picks show political acumen on her part and have raised questions about her commitment to the Tea Party movement, whether she’s moving toward the political establishment and whether she’s planning a run for the presidency in 2012. I’ve always said, don’t underestimate Palin Power. Read about it below and see photos and a video.

The Super-Tuesday primaries were last Tuesday and the winner was …. Sarah Palin. It seems that the power of a Palin endorsement was front and center regardless of who won in any individual campaign. Her endorsements brought controversy within her own party and among her supporters. Many in the Tea Party movement saw it as her endorsing ‘Rinos’ (Republican in Name Only) rather than true Conservatives. They expressed disappointment with her on her Facebook page saying she had sold out to ‘milk toast moderates’.

Palin responded that her picks were pragmatic. Her endorsement of Carly Fiorina, for instance. The hard-right Conservatives chastised Palin for supporting Fiorina, claiming she was a RINO and not a real Conservative. Palin responded that Fiorina is the candidate that can beat Barbara Boxer in the November elections. ‘Most importantly, Carly is the only conservative in the race who can beat Barbara Boxer. That’s no RINO. That’s a winner.’

This is much to the chagrin of some, but then, Sarah Palin has always described herself as a ‘Rogue’ and she shows that in many of the decisions she makes.

In reality, we have to ask ourselves what is important in the long run. Is it more important to have our preferred candidate attempt a run and end up with someone like Barbara Boxer remaining in office or is it more important to get people in the races who can actually win over these far-left extremists who are threatening the very fabric of our country?

Do we want to have Representatives that represent us, or who represent the more conservative elements in their own districts? And most importantly, do we want to break the one-party rule our country is currently suffering under? How important is it to us to break the super-majority in Congress and the Senate?

For me, the choice is simple. The stakes are much too high to insist that everyone agree with me on every single issue. The global powers backing the downfall of our Judeo-Christian culture are too powerful and have made too much progress already. We must do what we can to get representatives who think MORE like the average American. If Carly Fiorina has a chance to get Boxer out of office, then she’s the one who should run against her.

I would rather have less Conservative than more radically progressive representatives in Congress. Otherwise, we are setting ourselves up for a massive failure and November 2012 could very well be our last chance to succeed through the voting booths.

For those reasons, pragmatic Palin picks show political acumen and I wouldn’t underestimate her or count her out for a Sarah Palin 2012 run for the presidency.

You can see more pictures and a video of Sarah Palin discussing her Super Tuesday ‘Mama Grizzly’ picks.

She seems to be constantly underestimated. I guess the idea of her being a well practiced political-tactician goes against the conventional-wisdom grain.

Notice how the liberal media (the AP) is giving these conservatives a platform to rail against Sarah. As long as they get sound-bites from angry conservatives bashing Palin, it's helping their overall agenda of taking her down. Yeah, the media is really empathetic to conservatives who got "shafted" by Sarah's endorsements. Give me a break. Then you have the usual anti-Palin fringe here on FR regurgitating this.

What RINOs have Palin endorsed? The McCain endorsement is simply an anomaly, something that's grudgingly understood by her supporters, so that really doesn't count. Branstad and Carly are not RINOs, so all of Palin's endorsements are conservative.

AGREED, except when it comes to mccain (small letters on purpose), but I can forgive her on this one.

Relax..

They are out of ammo.

Sarah doesn’t go by their book. She is a free spirit. all Sarah has to do is be Sarah and not give a dang.

This country is going to need her in the future. Even if she doesn’t run for President.

President Reagan would have agreed with this statement and the idea behind whole-heartedly.

Too bad there are a few on FreeRepublic that can't get past their purity test.

I'd agree generally. Many of the primary races this cycle have several good conservative contenders (which is great), and AP and some other scumbag media hacks are focussing on the fact that some republicans disagree with who Palin should support. Sour grapes IMO, and their vocal disagreement is only due to the fact they KNOW Palin's endorsements make a big difference. Who complains about Mitts endorsements?

"not to take the hatch to Dino.."

What are the above words saying?

I do know that Clint Didier flew over to the Tri-Cities Saturday to talk about campaign fund raising with Sarah Palin. Have you heard anything else?

Purity test? Nobody passes their purity test.

Their issue is not that, and obviously why most of them refuse to name their own preferences, as they can't defend them from similar accusations.

The real reason for the attacks is that Palin commands all the attention, leaving their preferred candidates considerably less than 1%'ers, perhaps even irrelevant.

The solution according to them, is to kneecap Palin. But if they had a brain they would think about why Palin commands that support and attention, and get with the agenda. If their preferred contenders are good enough, they will emerge on their own, without the need to undermine every competitor on the same conservative team.

And most unfortunately, they use liberal talking points in their arguments. For that latter reason I consider them Vichy Conservatives, collaborating with the enemy.

Her chance of ever being the nominee is near zero and she’ll be all but forgotten in ten years. I’m sorry that so many people on here actually see her as the heir to the tradition of people such as Thatcher and the Gipper. She doesn’t have a tenth of the substance of either and is more of a speechmaker than anything else.

Ever read the stuff she WRITES? She is a journalism grad from a small non-elet university. They did a heck of a job teaching her to say what she wants in a few well chosen words.

It is her wrtiting that will eventually destroy her critics.
