Here were some great points brought up on Franks show tonight: that if we legalize marijuana the drug pushers that are making illegal money now from marijuana will move on to other drugs so they won’t lose any money from their illegal dealings. Also, people called in saying that marijuana is addictive. Another great point was that we will have to pay even more to rehabilitate these new folks that become addicted. I did not even get to listen to most of the show because I was working. But I do know that more people called in against than for this prop. because my friend tried to call in and explain his argument for voting NO and they wouldn’t let him on the show. They had to many callers against it and they were looking for people to debate the other side (for debate sake.)

I meant to say: They had too many callers against it and they were looking for people to debate the other side (for debate sake.)

Also, one man who said it was addictive said he knew from personal experience that it was extremely difficult for him to overcome his addiction to it.

Thanks for that information. Lots of common sense there!

Long term use also makes you crazy. I assume many FReepers have seen this in friends/relatives? I have. Paranoia and irrational stupidity afflict formerly normal, rational people.

It’s not instantaneous, but it seems rather permanent.

Is this the same Frank Pastore who pitched for the Cincinnati Reds in the `80s and who holds the record at the Big Texan steakhouse in Amarillo for eating a 72 ounce steak, house salad, and baked potato in 19 minutes?

Yes to the former. : ) He has an incredible story about how he ended up being the talk show host for KKLA. It is really great. I don’t know (to the latter part of your question!) You can email him. I’m sure he would laugh at your question.

Have you heard of Hugh Hewitt? Look what Hugh says of Frank’s new book entitled Shattered:

My old friend and guest host Frank Pastore is a great and good man, a terrific radio host, a great witness for the Gospel, and now the author of a wonderful memoir of his life in baseball and his walk to faith. I finished Shattered, Struck Down but not Destroyed on this National Day of Prayer while flying west to east, and recommend it to every believer and everyone curious about the faith. It is also a compelling story of triumph over difficult family and professional circumstances with a great baseball yarn thrown in.
