What was arrogant about my post? I admittedly don’t care for her, but last I knew that wasn’t arrogant.

I come in peace, Melas!

My guess is that people resent being pigeonholed into categories by virtue of income and education level. They're flawed indicators of people, and certainly flawed indicators of peoples' intelligence. We all know that empirically, can we agree?

Palin waitressed her way through a ho-hum college or two. We can all think of many productive, respected people in our spheres who essentially did the same. What did Romney do? How about Bush? Or Obama? Or Condi Rice? Theirs were whole different college worlds from the experience of people in my sphere.

I know a smart person when I see one. Palin would be a great president, if we're lucky enough to have her. Romney would be a destructive force to America, pushing it more toward statism. Unlike Obama or whatever other idiot liberal gets the nomination, Romney would also completely demoralize voters, make them cynical, and make any raising the Republican banner as the one for getting monkey government off our backs -- the banner of "vote here if you want limited government" -- a joke. Hence the continued and hastened decay of the Union.

Income is in part an indicator of one's desire for material things, and another in part an indicator of one's desire to excel. People are all different, and driving desire is separate from intelligence. The individuals reflected in those numbers who seem to denigrate Palin, are ... well, me and a lot of folks I know. You might understand if I smelled a whiff of arrogance about you.
