DNC Chairwoman Bashes GOP For Supporting Foreign Car Companies, Owns Foreign Car
Mediaite ^ | May 27, 2011 | Josh Feldman

It’s a general rule of thumb that whenever a politician says something negative about their opposition, they better not be guilty of the same thing, otherwise they would end up looking incredibly foolish.

The latest pol to suffer from this is Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Since she began her tenure as head of the DNC, Wasserman Schultz has gone on the offensive against the Republicans. She accused the GOP of “waging war on the unemployed” and slammed their budget proposal as a “path to poverty.” But her latest attack on the opposition backfired in a major way.

Wasserman Schultz appeared at a breakfast for reporters and called out the Republican candidates for president who were very critical of the 2009 auto bailouts:

"If it were up to the candidates for president on the Republican side, we would be driving foreign cars; they would have let the auto industry in America go down the tubes."

So we can infer that if Wasserman Schultz had her way, we would not be driving foreign cars. We would be driving automobiles made right here in America!

Well, what an error that would be. Luckily, her garage was on hand to clarify her position.

[A]ccording to Florida motor vehicle records, the Wasserman Schultz household owns a 2010 Infiniti FX35, a Japanese car whose parent company is Nissan, another Japanese company. The car appears to be hers, since its license plate includes her initials.

Obviously, it’s not entirely fair to base her position on domestic car manufacturers by what she drives to work. Her voting record would be a more accurate way of measuring it. However, if you’re going to throw stones, make sure your house is not made of glass first.

We don’t have to make Dems look bad; they do a whizzbangwhoppadoozie job of it all by themselves.

Reminds me of an incident when I was living in Kansas City. At the time both GM and Ford had assembly plants there. While driving on the freeway, I noticed the vehicle in front of me had a bumper sticker: “Buy a Foreign Car. Help 10 Americans Lose Their Jobs.” Okay, you are thinking, so what? The stick was on a Nissan mini-pickup.

Of course it’s the liberals that are the fools...

The most AMERICAN CAR (parts and labor)is the Honda Accord, approx.. 87% American parts and labor..

Chrysler was at 84%

GM and Fords are mostly made in Canada and Mexico...

Which ones are the American ones, again???

Debbie Wasserman Schultz (born in 1966) is the biological and / or ideological issue of 1960s Marxist-Alinsky campus/street revolutionary rabble.

"Do as I say not as I do."

She and the other biological and / or ideological spawn of those 1960s nut cases have no idea what all the fuss is about. . . If Ms Schultz were black they'd all be screaming, Racist!

I can’t believe we’re at the point of no return, or at least I refuse to believe it...not until 2012.

2012 will give us a definitive answer. I pray God forgives us and allows us a 2nd chance.

That 2nd chance is Sarah.

The sad thing here....she will have to part with that car that she loves...and buy some GM vehicle...which she will likely hate for the rest of the time that she’s in this position. Personally, I can’t think of a single GM car that I’d own today...except maybe a Corvette. And as a VIP of the party...she can’t dare show up in a Corvette anywhere.

I’ve got a 97 Ford Explorer. I love my gigantic gas guzzling beast because all during this “global warming” ice and snow we have had here in NY this winter, he never slipped nor slided.

Ford didn’t take a dime of “stimulus”, kudos to them. I plan on keeping my V8 all wheel drive until it dies.

Paltrow got excoriated for his hypocrisy, but she's just a Hollywood cipher, AND she moved to the UK because she felt she was being harassed by those who pointed out her hypocrisy. Al Gore rides in a massive SUV and eats endangered species.

If you're thinking in strictly political terms, perhaps.

But, the financial situation is, IMHO, hopeless. There is no way the economy can bear up under the weight of the debt that is accumulating. Too much fiat currency and the government defaults on it's debt or hyper-inflates the dollar and pays back lenders (foreign treasury debt holders) with dollars worth perhaps 15% of what the lenders originally paid. That $50.00 savings bond you bought will be worth something like $3.00. Your bank account will still have $XX in it but the money will buy 85% less.

Keep praying.

I have an 03 Ranger that I have had to do very little to, maybe $800 since buying outside of routine maintenance. It has 159K on the clock.

Most likely it will be phased out this year and after looking around the only thing out there that impresses me is Toyota. My wife bought a Camry last year and it is a great car.
