Will Hillary Clinton Challenge Obama Next Year?
American Thinker ^ | October 1, 2011 | Bob Weir (Retired Detective Sergeant, NYPD)

Ever since Bill and Hillary Clinton stepped onto the national stage, I have been struck by their lust for power. When Bill became embroiled in his first sex scandal during the race for the White House in 1992, one would have thought his presidential career was over before it had begun.

Then, the country witnessed his wife on national television saying that people were telling lies about her husband. "I'm not some woman standing by my man like Tammy Wynette," she said, trying to save the philanderer whom she viewed as her key to political prominence.

If she had told the voters what she already knew about Bill's lascivious liaisons, his ambitions would have ended in Little Rock. But Hillary is not the type of woman who cares about such mundane matters as marital fidelity; she, like Bill, is a child of the "free love" era that dominated the 1960s. The pursuit of power is the aphrodisiac of choice for this pair of ruthless hucksters. After Bill's two terms in the White House, they moved to New York, pulling a Bobby Kennedy type of carpetbagger caper, so Hillary could run for the U.S. Senate.

The rest seemed easy. Hillary would be a shoo-in for president in 2008. However, as happens in some of the best-laid plans, suddenly, the devious duo got hit with Hurricane Obama. The fact that this upstart community organizer from Illinois, with a mere two years in the Senate, could wrench the nomination away from a woman who felt she was the heir-apparent to the throne seemed to indicate that the country had had enough of the Clintons. Begrudgingly, Hillary accepted the secretary of state position, while plotting the demise of the man who had robbed her of her place in history....

She doesn't.

They won't try.

She may have lust for power, but I think the lust for Bill is long gone.

Will Hillary Clinton Challenge Obama Next Year?

What and cause a 'civil' war inside the democrat party? The only way I see Hillary on the ballot next year is if BamBamKennedy steps down. She might take old Biden's place if he claims he needs to step down and take care of family matters.

And then she's a heartbeat away from the presidency in the event of another Ron Brown beacon malfunction.

An image I could have gone all night without, thank you very much.

This is the box the Democrats' identity politics has put them in: even though it might well be better for their Party, and Hillary would be far harder for us to beat, every Democrat politician knows that challenging a Black incumbent for national office is political suicide.

Their race-baiting and race-mongering have gotten so thoroughly out of control that they've they've now got to argue with the most convoluted, tortured, twists of rhetorical balderdash that Tea Party support for Cain is actually a sign of "racism."

Howzzat again?

Nobody is going to challenge 0bama. Not happening.

Well, IF old Biden does need to take care of family business, and Hillary would take the VP slot, there would be a massive hiring of all kinds of security. From food tasters on to Saddam type security details on both sides. I do not see it politically advantageous for Hillary to challenge the ‘One’ that would be sacrilegious in liberal circles.

How can she win without the black vote?

By winning the female vote, and the “soft middle” so-called independents. You know, the independents. The ones who aren’t paying attention and vote based upon impressions formed from network news sound bites, magazine covers, TV ads and late night comics. The ones who don’t know who they’re voting for until a week before the election. The ones who think it would be “neat” to have the first woman president, without regards to who she is or what she would do once in office.

The same ones who elected Barack Obama.

And, while a lot of blacks won’t bother to vote if Obama declines to run again, or is beaten in the primaries, the ones who do vote will vote mostly Democrat.

Obama likens himself as a world player. The USA he has contempt for. It wouldn't be surprising if he decides to leave us because the world beckons him onto bigger and more important things.

If unemployment stays above 9% by Jan. 1, Obama will be unelectable because it won’t have a chance to come down significantly by the Nov. elections.

So, I believe that the DEM Party leaders will ask him to step aside for “the good of the Party” ...

‘Course he probably won’t - then the leaders have a choice, stick with Obama [and almost certain unelectability], or back another candidate such as Hilary ...

You are right about Zero needing to step down. If Hillary runs against him, she's toast.

But, her as a replacement for Biden does nothing for the party. Zero, right now, is too much damaged goods, and will only get worse over the next year, barring a miracle...or martial law.

On the other hand...A gracious Obama (snort), stepping aside, for whatever reason, and wholeheartedly endorsing Hillary, would energize the entire party. In fact all of Zero's negatives INSTANTLY become positives, as marginal dems, rinos and indies, now see Zero differently.

Where Hillary now, should she try to run against Zero, would be seen as part of the Obama administration, and would be fighting that identity. But if Zero steps down, all the negative energy that people have against him is gone. Look at Rasmussen polls. About 44% strongly disapprove of the president. Remove Obama from the race, and all those people who strongly disapprove of him, and WOULD HAVE voted against him, are now neutralized. Their anger and ire no longer have a target.

On the other hand, he hands Hillary 95% of the black vote. He would no longer be seen as the leader of failure, but once again could step into his "We ARE the ones" role, and endorse Hillary.

Dems and libs have short memories, but most of all are GULLIBLE.

They WANT Obama to be a savior. They WANT their party to win. They WANT life to conform to their world view. But these last 3 years REALITY has been kicking them in the teeth. They have had cognitive dissonance driving them mad. Should Obama step back and endorse Hillary, it ALLOWS them to once again WANT Obama to be a messianic type. Because of their desire for him to be their messianic type, his endorsement for Hillary will be even more powerful.

I really don’t see it. What’s he going for? Ban Ki-Moon’s job? Seriously. He knows the US Presidency is the pinnacle of human political achievement, and like all egotists he’s got to have that second term to affirm the greatness of his “transformational presidency.”

There is a 3rd alternative.

Replace Biden with Hillary, real soon...

and...

"create" a Wellstone moment.

A nation in mourning = Sympathy vote. Also, demonize all adversarries = hostility vote.

Attention is then deflected from the real or current issues, and passed to the created ones.

And if things are bad enough but polls aren't to your liking, declare martial law...
for the good of the nation.

He will not step aside, and he will not endorse Hillary. All of his posturing over the last two weeks with the class warfare rhetoric is a signal that he will leave no room on the Left of him for a challenge, and room to the right has no meaning in a Democrat primary.

He isn't stepping down; he isn't standing aside. It's not possible given his personality disorder.

Well aside from ‘wanting’ Obama to be a savior, liberals are the last people on the planet to admit they are wrong. So this ‘saving’ the party is as much about liberals never having to say they are ‘sorry’/wrong. It is very difficult to have a relationship with a liberal. Nothing is ever their fault. I was recently told that a certain liberal’s intentions were good.... I responded with ‘didn't somebody say that the road to hell was paved with good intentions’? Total and complete silence was the response.

I AGREE completely.

Even if it were possible for Zero to see the writing on the wall. And even if he could see his stepping back and endorsing Hillary, as saving the election for the party. His ego would never allow him to do that.

Like Hitler, he'd rather take everybody down with him, instead of give up power.

I know and agree completely with what you're saying.

Its easier to have a conversation with a brick wall, about politics and society, than a liberal. And the brick wall will have better comprehension than a liberal.

It would also be easier and more comforting, to bang your head against a brick wall vs talking with a lib.
