It seems unlikely that a deadlocked nominating convention would pick an outsider.
But, of course, Palin is not an outsider. She is the best possible candidate out there. The establishment would never nominate her—but the establishment didn’t want to nominate Reagan, either.
If, as I expect, Romney implodes, and Newt and Rick can’t get a majority, then they might well turn to an outside candidate.
Jeb Bush has been mentioned. But can they pull that off? Impose a third Bush on the party, out of the blue?
It’s still an outside chance, but I think there is also a chance that Palin might get it, because everything else has blown up in their faces.
I suppose it depends on who the delegates are, and whether they are willing to do the right thing. Ron Paul has been working on that angle, trying to get Paulbots into the Convention, but I seriously doubt he can pull it off.
Let’s hope & pray that this somehow works out.
Jeb Bush would be a suicide pill. The name is tainted. I’m not saying he might not win in a brokered convention, but he’d be no better than Romney as far as our future is concerned, and likely worse. We don’t need no stinkin dynasty trade-off. We need to get this train back on the tracks before we reach the canyon.

.
It would be the end of the GOP.
Neither Mitt nor Rick meet the natural born citizen requirement. That leaves Newt and Ron who together won’t have enough delegates. Can anyone see Mitt or Rick giving their delegates to Newt or Ron?
This amounts to a very open door, a door big enough for the Tea Party while carrying Palin on our shoulders.
Please GOD let this happen.
