Ok,maybe I am wrong here but what about the states that have passed the “popular vote” laws?Even if Romney doesn't win enough to get to 279,but wins the popular vote,there are 8 states that have passed laws to give their EC votes to the popular vote winner.Wouldn't that burn them up,because the states that have passed it are Maryland,New Jersey,Illinois.Hawaii,California,Vermont,Washington,Massachusetts,and Washington DC.I realize this isn't techincally legally legal without being authorized by congress but it would be interesting to see what they would do.They have passed the laws,but they intended them to be used for the benefit of the dimocraps!

You know, that’s an argument that I’ve never considered. Though we all know that these states (all blue) would renege if it gave Romney the Presidency, the hypocrisy would be impossible to hide. Your argument is something I’m going to have to consider.
