President Obama and Republican senators had a “good exchange of ideas” this evening during their roughly two-hour-long dinner at the posh Jefferson Hotel, just blocks from the White House, according to a senior administration official.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., gave the meeting a thumbs up as he exited the hotel, saying it was “just fine,” “great” and “wonderful.”

McCain told reporters gathered across the street that it was a “very enjoyable evening,” but declined to discuss specifics.

Obama invited 12 GOP senators to break bread as part of a larger effort to jump start budget negotiations and try to cut a deal with rank-and-file Republicans.

“The president greatly enjoyed the dinner,” the administration official said.

But did they make any progress?

“We’ll see,” Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., told reporters....

Well thank Sarah Palin for RINO McCains comments.
She should have left him to lose to JD Hayworth and we would have one more Conservative in the Senate, not some White House Lap Dog.
Senator McCain is to Conservatism, what pedophile priests are to Catholicism.

If someone picked you out of 320 million people to be the second most powerful person in the world you would backstab him two years later? Well, Gov. Sarah Palin isn't built that way, from what I've seen.

LOL. For his comments?

OKay. Then thank Sarah Palin for Rand Paul, given that she was the first big name, if not the only, to endorse him!

See how that works?

So he’s having Republican senators for dinner. Did he also have some fava beans and a nice Chianti?

Let us not forget who was beside Rand's side and who got under Holder's skin.

I wish Ted Cruz would have gotten up during the Filibuster and talked about the Price of Rice in China, it STILL would have been more productive than having the regular Senate in session.

2DV, your point is well taken. At times I over-distill the situation to a simple “If you're not with me , you're against me” solution.
But as to my point, there is no reason she should not be VP. Remember the questioning of Senator McCain's eligibility because of his Navy base birth in Panama? Turn about is fair play and it took Donald trump, 3.5 years later to get that forged document out of the White house. This is scary conspiratorial and yet Senator McCain did nothing. He is a part of the problem and none of the solution and I (a big Palin supporter) have never forgiven her. McCain was done, JD Hayworth was in.
If you have a big dog and he turns around and bites you, you put it down. Sarah picked it up and petted it.

No, he hadn’t gone really rabid at that point, like he is today. Can you imagine the uproar from the lamestream media if she hadn’t endorsed him two years later?
