An audio analyst (maybe even a layperson) could tell immediately if a recording was made through a closed door.
They know who did it and the culprits are just trying to figure out what lies they can get away with and what low level staffer (Craig Livingstone wanna be) they can pin it on.

There are NO “slim chances” with this administration. There are only gross, ham-handed bludgeon moves incrementally moving towards the deliberate destruction of everything we value. The left will demand the rings of Saturn and settle for the magnetic field of Mars. Then they will bring up the issue again, and move the ball further down into the next ring of hell.
