I agree with your overall point, but I think there is a wrinkle here.
Romney was involved in politics for decades. He won precisely one election. He's not a senior person. He's not an electable person. He was just a bad, bad choice. It wasn't his turn. He didn't deserve the office. But he was "inevitable".
The GOP makes very odd choices for their candidates. I am under no illusion that the people choose their candidates through primaries -- I don't think it works that way. Romney was selected by the GOP, with very little chance of winning, and for no good reason except perhaps for the fact that he had very little chance of winning.
It’s obvious that being a VOTER takes a lot of hard work, intelligence, and yes, wisdom acquired through experience. How many people are thus qualified? People should have to pass a voter’s test like they do for drivers licenses, educational diplomas, and jobs.
Rove has to go.
