When moderates fight back: GOP civil war could be brutal in 2014 elections

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

There's a fight brewing and it could get ugly.

In one corner is the Republican Party. And in the other ... the Republican Party.

The stakes could not be higher. The GOP has failed to get a majority of Americans to vote for its presidential candidates in five of the last six elections. And Tuesday night's gubernatorial races -- a win in New Jersey and loss in Virginia -- sent confusing signals, at best, about where the party is headed.

The fight spilled out into the open in a race for Alabama's 1st Congressional District, with two Republicans the face of the party's internal civil war.

Establishment-backed Bradley Byrne beat tea party candidate Dean Young in Tuesday's bitter primary.

The Alabama race could be just a sample of what may come, and the battle within the GOP may get much more intense leading up to the 2014 elections.

That's because some Republicans -- especially what's left of the moderate wing -- don't want a repeat of the 2010 and 2012 elections. The GOP first regained control of the House of Representatives in 2010 and maintained its control two years later.

Confused? Let's explain....

We won’t win them all. But we will win our fair share. And as long as we stand on our principles we will win in the end.

Funny how you almost never see a story like this about the Democrats. Am I to believe that there's been no dissension in the ranks there since Andrew Jackson?

The difference is that Democrats all pull the same rope when it comes to winning elections/issues. They don't "fragment" until the previous unified front causes them problems. They all knew that Cruz, Lee and company were correct, but held together until the pretty much won the issue, then those affected decided to start clean up actions.

Their voters do the same thing - burn them a thousand times and they still vote for the Dems who burned them.

We fragment early and often and keep giving them elections because "the lesser of two evils is not a choice even if it means what is happening right now with a second Obama term - we have long-range dreams and short term schizophrenia - the long term can't happen if you keep killing your short term chances.
