A few weeks after the national Republican Party moved in to revamp the campaign and begin an ad blitz aimed at saving incumbent Sen. Pat Roberts' job, a new poll shows him facing more of an uphill battle than ever against independent businessman Greg Orman.

But another liberal in the senate isn’t a brilliant idea.

He rents a recliner in the state he represents. His house is in the beltway.

A tie is five points better than the previous poll.

He is too old to withstand the rigors of weekly travel back and forth from Kansas to DC. All GOP senate candidates are old white men. How about some younger white men. or younger females, or younger Hispanics, or younger African-Americans?

Dole, NcCain, Romney.....common thread is all are old white men.

Its bad news for RINO’s, not the Grass roots.......an Independent has to listen to both sides, and go with the voters.
That’s about all you can ask for from a Representative.

RINO’s go with the part line in DC, not the voters at home.

RINO Kindergarten show and tell, “See independent win, Nobody likes a RINO”

I am rooting for Roberts to win. This is just my letting out frustration over the fact that GOP keeps recycling old men.

I don’t know that Kansas is “reddest of the red”. They picked Sebelius as their Governor.

This is why many are heading to Kansas.
Some include Dole, Palin, McCain, Cruz, Paul, Ryan, and others.

Pat Roberts has a pretty good conservative record. He’s not what wrong with the senate. I don’t care if he’s from Mars or Jupiter or if his hair is green or purple.

“GOP needs fresh energy. Old white men ain’t it!”

What kind of BS bumper sticker is that? This thread seems to be just a little bit trollish. BTW, stop being racist against old white guys. I’m sure a lot of Freepers are offended, so apologize now! Are there really that many LIVs in Kansas? What if the “fresh energy” votes for a communist leader like Reid or Schumer.

As an “independent”, I’m sure he will follow the course of other senate “independents” like Bernie Sanders or that Angus dude form Maine; those two have some of the worst records in the senate. I’ll bet “fresh energy” will be the same as “change”.

Don’t you have anything better to defend your Leftist Senate choice?

The test for Pat Roberts as far as GOP money was concerned is whether or not he will vote Mitch McConnell in January 2015. Whether Pat Roberts was a winning candidate hardly appeared on their radar screen. We have seen this pattern in Mississippi and elsewhere.

This survey sought out the youngest male in the household if you read the details. Since younger people tend to be more liberal, it tells me they are trying to get the results they want. Don’t believe this BS. The liberal agitators will be out pushing this, including the media. The left is trying to pull out all the stops in these races.

It was great to see Ted Cruz endorse Pat Roberts today and he is coming to stump for him. I may have to go depending how close they come.

It certainly looks like the poll was manipulated.

Strange methodology.

Orman is not a real independent, he is as liberal as you can get. He is a follower of the liberal Dem. party.
One of the good things about Roberts is he could help get the Senate to change to Republican and that is the overall good here. Harry Reid must go. He has done more to destroy our country than any other legislator.
