Donald Trump is surging in GOP presidential polls ahead of next weeks first Republican debate among the partys presidential candidates, but the controversial businessman finished third in a sampling of conservative activists, according to a survey released Saturday by the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition.
In email polling of 122 coalition members conducted July 26 through July 29, Texas Senator Ted Cruz came in first at 29 percent, followed by Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker at 27 percent, with Trump at 19 percent. The rest of the crowded GOP field finished in single digits. You can see the entire poll here.
The poll also asked respondents who they would support if their first choice was not on the ballot. Governor Walker finished first at 28 percent and Senator Cruz at 19 percent
In the growing field of candidates for Missouri Governor, Lt. Governor Peter Kinder topped the field at 42 percent, followed by NAVY Seal Eric Greitens and Businessman John Brunner, who both had 24 percent support.
The entire poll had a margin of error of 8 percent.
Keep up the Cruz negativity. You could win the big screen television or the X-Box.
No,
Trump’s *supporters* (that’s the people that would actually cast a vote for Trump rather than vote for an actual conservative like Cruz) tend to be:
(1) Ron Paul lunatics
(2) Cruz Birthers
(3) People that don’t understand what true conservatism is and still won’t by supporting Trump
(4) People that think the country is too ignorant to understand real conservative ideas so the only hope is to put someone in who “talks tough” even though they act like and support liberals
Here’s the latest Pro-Trump Anti-War rant thread

It really looks like the Paulbots and Buchananites have found a home.
“I see the finalists as Bush, Cruz, and Trump.”
Same here. The reason why Trump and Cruz met in private was probably to tag team Bush and let the best man win near the finish line.
Why will conservatives suddenly trust Trump? Maybe Trump followers will fall out of love with Trump. I think Trump might bring in pro life democrats before he brings in conservatives.
I'm only entering if it's better than my 46in Mexican Sony
Isn’t Palin a conservative? How come Trump has her vote?
I can see you’ve got a real antipathy for them, but I think polls suggest you’re kind of missing what’s really going on.
Now... THIS is the poll I’m going to believe in (hee, hee). I think it’s probably an accurate percentage given the make up of those polled. Overall population of Republicans... doubtful. Still, I’ll take what I can get!
I love it when people generalize while condescending, it’s so liberal of you.
I’m a Cruz supporter. But if he doesn’t get the nomination, I hope it is Trump.
They are buds. I have not seen her endorse him. I figure her for a Cruz backer. Because I am. And she has brains and bigger balls than most, what did I read today? Ones that clack against each other while walking?
“Isnt Palin a conservative? How come Trump has her vote?”
A lot of non-Trump people are, right now, SERIOUSLY RECONSIDERING their opposition to him, just based on Palin supporting him.
It is virtually impossible to call Trump a fake, while Palin is supporting him, front-and-center.
Ted Cruz has endorsements from Louie Gomhert and Mike lee among others and Rand Paul has Justin Amash in his corner.
So those 4 could have done it all by themselves?
So tell me, is life easier or harder when you’re a freakin moron?
Cruz has me nervous on the 40 mil roaming. It will take a TOUGH one to do that job. Cruz will find a way to grant a “legal” stay here for them is my main concern then the free trade issue.
Ok, I’ll play. Why don’t you tell us?
