CNN asked millennial voters from a range of backgrounds to weigh in on whether, and how well, the 2016 presidential candidates are reflecting the priorities of their generation the largest and most diverse demographic cohort in American history as they make their case to voters. The opinions expressed are solely those of the authors.
Elizabeth Elizalde, 22, is a New York-based journalist and a former CNN en Español intern. Follow her on Twitter @EElizalde5.
Im a 22-year-old Latina living in New York City, and as a recent college graduate, I know the struggle of making ends meet. My college expenses kept me up at night, especially the time I paid $120 for a book, $116 for my MetroCard and $840 for an extra class. I worked multiple jobs, but by the end of a semester, I would still be broke. It was worth it for my degree, but would I have had a better educational experience if money worries hadnt been so overwhelming?
I want to see a change in college costs but have heard little on this so far. Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders proposes a tuition-free community college and raising the minimum wage to $15. But Im unsure if his plan would create jobs with better salaries for young people. Jobs are a big concern....

Well my beloved millennial daughter (and son-in-law I hope) will be voting for the Republican nominee.
However they live in the bluest of blue states so it probably won’t help!

I live in Brad Sherman’s District. THAT is a negate-a-vote exercise in each election.

Yeah we are in NJ, I think we’re the most gerrymandered state in the nation. Even during that tea party tidal wave in 2010 not a single incumbent was ousted here. It’s pathetic.

My daughter is 20, in college. Sensible girl -- very pro-life. Because of her pro-life beliefs, she will not vote for Bernie Sanders, but she finds him "interesting" and she notes that "all" of her friends plan to vote for him. I'm working on her, but she is now several states away, surrounded by college professors.
I remember when I was in college in 1980, everyone around me "knew" that Reagan was an idiot and a war-monger. If you elect a guy like that, nuclear war is pretty much guaranteed, right? Well, I hope that Trump wins in 2016 so that a new generation of voters can see that the "crazy" guy just might turn out to be a statesman.
Reagan changed everything about politics for me. We need that again.

(I've switched. Trump is my #1. He understands how to get things done. Cruz can be VP.)

So where are the millenials who are farmers, welders, and truck drivers? I don’t see any in this article.
To: proxy_user
The staff at CNN wouldn’t know any people like that.

IOW, no they don't -- partisan shills have their party-line opinions disseminated by Partisan Media Shills (PMS).

Quite agree. The rest of the interviewees consisted of a muzzie, two male, black, Democrat politicians, a feminist, a veterans' activist, a new-ager, maybe one or two others, but no matter, the whole thing was just a shill piece.

Exactly " I don't have a clue about anything, but I'm a 22 yr old liberal racist Latino and I must vote for whomever is the closest candidate to a Marxist female Latino, otherwise I would be a racist". X CNN reporter. I'm amazed she's not on the editorial board...
