If you had to vote in your state primary/caucus today, knowing what you know now about the various declared and probable candidates, who would you vote for? Why? Who would you like to see as the running mate for your preferred candidate? If you could help staff your candidates cabinet and other top appointments, who would you choose? If you could recommend different congressional leaders than we have now, who would they be? And who would you like to see on the Supreme Court and why? And finally, feel free to donate to Free Republic.
I’m stunned to see the very many Freepers Cruz-BOTS on this thread, NOT knowing the NBC requirements to run for President. AMAZING ignorance when comes to at least 3-4 Anchor Babies not qualified to be in the race!!!

That’s an easy question, we all make mistakes, we are all human, right? Betcha you’ve made about faces or drastic changes too.
Me, I’m an alcoholic, have not drank in over 30 years.
But we are talking famous people, so here are two good examples:
John Wayne started out as a communist.
Ronald Reagan started out as a democrat.
Further, Trump will occasionally take a democrats point of view, for two reasons, (1) they are not always wrong and (2) to come up with a good deal for all there occasionally needs to be a compromise.
I’ve never been against compromise as long as there is a net gain. With the RINO’s it’s perpetual loss, non-stop losing and traitoring.
Cruz would likely make a better prez, but he has a likability issue with the general public, and he does not go after the left like Trump does.
Very interesting -- and illuminating -- point of view.
An admission that Cruz is the better man for the job...
Coupled to reasons for dismissing that man which are invalid.
First, there is no evidence that Cruz has a "likability" problem with the electorate -- only assertions by the MSM that he has a "likability" problem with them.
Second, Cruz is currently running against other Republicans for the Republican nomination. He is not running against the left, so there is no need to attack the left. That can wait until the general election, when his foe will actually be the left.

Most illuminating part of doing this is seeing clearly how both sides argue for their chosen candidate.
I can’t help but wonder, who has the most to gain by turning supports of both men, against Cruz? Which is what appears to be happening as it’s been stated clearly over and over. I know that I’m no longer reading comments from those who call me silly names; trumpster, trumpanzee et al
So I’ve been wondering, who gains from turning people off to Cruz through vocal supporters who resort to condescending personal attacks? Hoping to see through the fog on this one.
20 years of service is impressive.
It's souped up a little from the original (started with a 1.2 gb hard drive, now has a 500 gb on a Sonnet SCSI to IDE adapter; PowerMac 7600 with I believe a 603 processor, now has a Sonnet 1 ghz G4 processor upgrade and 9.2.2 of the OS; USB; Radeon vid with three monitors) and will eventually fail, as is the way of all flesh and stuff that flesh builds, but I feel most comfortable with it.
Cruz
Some are just upset because they’ve invested a lot of time, money, and effort into Cruz’s campaign, only to see it diminished by what they view as Trump’s johnny-come-lately entrance into the race. Others just genuinely hate Trump and his followers. A very slight few may be Establishment operatives who are trying to damage both Trump and Cruz by pretending to be Cruz supporters while violently attacking Trump and his supporters in a crazed fashion.

Trump, for exactly the reason given above. There are elements of our society that are in desperate need of offending if we want to remain a sovereign nation.
When donations to FR start declining even more than they did when it went Full Romney after that functional Democrat won the nomination in 2012 -- well, the hard numbers THEN indicated that the majority of FReepers LOATHED Romney and resented even being asked to vote for him; at the time I thought FR represented just hard-core folks like me but in reality, FR represented conservatives across America -- Romney lost.
So far right now, according to my careful count of individual FReeper voices over the past months, a slight majority (not nearly so many as flat rejected/resented Romney in 2012) prefer Cruz, so I am inclined to believe that across America, it is the same -- the majority of conservatives prefer Cruz.
When FR stifles pro-Cruz folks from speaking truth about Trump (as opposed to flat-out falsehoods such as are told about Cruz and which I see posted here on FR often), it is asking for trouble.

I’ll trust him to know better than I what to do about the VP pick, cabinet positions, and Supreme Court nominees.
If it was good enough for Ghandi, it’s good enough for Trump.
We run across the few naysayers who go ballistic and do little but call names over their notion that Donald Trump may have ever changed his mind on a given subject during nearly 70 years of life.
My Daddy used to say, “only a fool never changes his mind”.
Whatever you have decided Trump is, no one can say he is a ‘fool’. ANY one of us would trade places with that ‘fool’!
So, Trump changed his mind on abortion...so did Reagan and George HW BUSH....for Bush it was several times! Any one of us who says we think the same way we did when we were younger is, excuse me...a LIAR or a damn fool.

Now, flip flopping back and forth and refusing to address an issue during this primary season, is what Bush, Rubio, Clinton and Ted Cruz do, not Trump. Donald Trump doesn’t dodge questions, but answers PLAINLY and his consistency in his speeches and position papers is unmatched in this contest.
And he’s grown instead of selling out to the biggest bidder like ALL the rest! AND admits he’s learned! And I say, Hallelujah!
