Trump may be what we are looking for.... but not the road we expected to take....
Scenario 1: Trump gets the nomination through brute force and makes the Gope squeal. Does what he says and makes america great again. GOPe is forced to transform into a more conservative/nationalist party.
Scenario 2: Trump throws red meat out to get elected but once he takes office he becomes king crony of the cronies. He betrays he his base and pisses off every conservative who voted for him. Since he ran under the GOP banner he does so much damage the GOP party collapses as the lib rockefellers run to the DNC and the conservatives and reagan democrats who voted for trump unite to for a new party. ( kinda how the conservative torries and labour classic liberals are joining to form the UKIP in england.)
Personally i think scenario 2 will play out. But i would be happy to be wrong.
I really believe that Trump will get in there and turn things around. At the very least, those who are managing the disgusting maneuvers to stop him will have to head for the hills.
Nr. 2 is eminently possible but bythe end of it it will be entirely too late for any new party and there will be onbly one party de jure as well as de facto.
