TRENTON Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is a "natural-born citizen" under the U.S. Constitution and therefore can run in the June 7 New Jersey primary, a state administrative law judge said Tuesday.
"The more persuasive legal analysis is that such a child, born of a citizen-father, citizen-mother, or both, is indeed a 'natural born citizen' within the contemplation of the Constitution," Administrative Law Judge Jeff Masin wrote.
A group of New Jersey residents and a Catholic University of America law professor insisted that Cruz, born in Canada to an American mother and a Cuban father, did not meet the constitutional requirements to be president.
The issue now goes to New Jersey Secretary of State Kim Guadagno, who will make a ruling that can be appealed in state court. Guadagno is also lieutenant governor.
Masin wrote in a 26-page decision that the issue of whether a child born outside the U.S. to an American citizen is eligible to be president "can never be entirely free of doubt, at least barring a definitive ruling" of the U.S. Supreme Court.
"Absolute certainty as to this issue is only available to those who actually sat in Philadelphia and themselves thought on the issue" even after "having weighed the arguments as they are presented by those trying to understand the framers' intent," the judge wrote....

Thanks for your service, and thanks for your thousands of good FR threads and posts.
Wait a moment.
Sure 2ndDivisionVet is on the wrong side.
But I think he is who he says he is, he is a disabled veteran, and I for one am very grateful to him and to people like him, and I defend him strongly.
But he’s wrong. :D
He seems to be what he says he is, however.
His mother was probably no longer a US citizen when Tedly was hatched.
Ted is hiding that.
You wrote it a few times. Are you now saying you are not a retired government employee? If so, then I suggest you do us all a favor and spend your time researching your posting history to find all your lies. Instead of wasting FR bandwidth with you repetitive crap.
Translation: I lied about 2DV and now I am backstroking because I can’t back up my bull**** about him being a retired government worker.
Yes, that is what the judge is saying (assuming the article is correct, I have not seen the judges own words)
See post 16.
So were you lying then, or are you lying now?
So you can’t back up your claim?
So you resent a small bit of your taxes going to disabled veterans?
If it’s there one of your fellow Trumpkins will find it, right? But it’s not there.
If I may take a moment to interject myself into this, I cannot friggin’ stand Ted Cruz. I used to support him, now I cannot even tolerate listening to him speak.
I would say that i have a pretty intense dislike of Ted Cruz. Dude makes my skin crawl. But I gotta be careful about my intense dislike of Cruz, because I am aware that it can spread to others who may not deserve to receive any of it.
2ndDivisionVet, whom I love very much, pisses me off to no end with his constant posting of Ted Cruz stuff.
But my being pissed off isn’t really his fault, it’s just because I don’t really want to see or hear anything about Ted Cruz. So the anger is generating from me, it’s not being generated in me by people who post about Cruz, and it would be wrong of me to hold him or them accountable or blame them for it.
They can support whoever they want, I don’t agree with it, and wish they saw things the way I do, but they don’t.
I try to make efforts not to go on Vet’s threads and and say stuff. I’m not going to change his mind on Cruz, and he can’t change mine.
I’ve really appreciated some of the things he’s posted in the past before this unfortunate primary season came upon us, especially this one picture of Jesus. That was about the best thing I’ve ever seen any one post ever.
So I don’t want to attack him or see him attacked. Sometimes I fail and go on one of his threads and call Cruz a a scumbag snake and stuff like that. I can’t help it all the time, I really just despise Cruz that much, but I don’t despise Vet.
He’s a good man, and letting this primary divide us so much to a point where we can’t ever come together again would be truly regrettable IMO.
Forget all these stupid politicians, we all still love America, we just are not seeing eye to eye on how best to proceed at this point.
God Bless you both, Jo and Vet.
Chris, thank you very much for telling us how you see things and help us to cool down.
Truth is, I favored Cruz early on, and thought him to be a solid constitutionalist, as opposed to Trump’s evolving political stances over the years.
Now, I’m Real put off by Cruz’s win-at-any cost actions and GOP establishment H1-B, TPP lenient leanings.
Good lord, where’s a honest, smart, military veteran who is a solid conservative American?...
We could certainly us someone like Allen West 2.0 in this race...
Please let us agree, a circular firing squad here is a big mistake.
Conservatives of all stripes are a dwindling breed these days.
BTW: Please do elaborate on the picture of Jesus post you mentioned.
I could us the spiritual life.
Jo and Vet, peace and good health, brothers.
The all

Vet posted this picture in a thread about a young child who experienced something no child should. I cannot remember the exact details, but as I recall it was horrible.
So Vet posted this picture in the thread, and it was very... I don't even know how to describe it. It just healed.
It brings tears to my eyes just to look at it even now. It's a powerful image.
I looked through pages and pages and pages of my posts to see if I could find this thread, but I could not. I just can't recall enough details about it. Maybe Vet can help in that regard.
But this picture is about the best thing I have ever seen posted anywhere.
Thank you, brother.
Just magnificent.
