Yes. In June Trump decided to become a conservative Republican.

That is not encouraging to me.

Cruz did not defend the thugs in Chicago and that was his first point of criticism in the controversy. Like it or not, Trump has followed Cruz’s advice and toned down his outrageous prompts encouraging his supporters to attack the protesters. It was dumb what Trump was advising and he now does not do that.

If you look at the Cruz map, he has won states all across the nation. The South will vote Republican. It does not matter.

Cruz actually understands how elections work. Trump does not.

He thinks anytime he loses the game is rigged. There are rules throughout the process— including the general.

Who is going to sit down and explain the electoral college system to Trump?

Is he really just going to bluster his way past that?

Just wait until Cruz’s eligibility, if he’s the nominee gets challenged by a Democrat. There will be judges crawling out of the woodwork ready to hear that case.

Yes. In June Trump decided to become a conservative Republican.

Not true. Trump since the 1980s have been making speeches about how the U.S. was getting screwed on trade deals. Go to YouTube and look it up.

Nobody said Trump was a conservative. But he's better: He's a nationalist who will put America first.

That is not encouraging to me.

But you have no issues with Republicans in Washington who has contributed to the conditions now, right?

Cruz did not defend the thugs in Chicago and that was his first point of criticism in the controversy. Like it or not, Trump has followed Cruz’s advice and toned down his outrageous prompts encouraging his supporters to attack the protesters. It was dumb what Trump was advising and he now does not do that.

Rafael Cruz gave a general condemnation of violence and proceeded to blame Trump's "campaign rhetoric" for starting the violence. So, he sided with the thugs instead of his fellow candidate who's ass he kissed profusely back in June.

If you look at the Cruz map, he has won states all across the nation. The South will vote Republican. It does not matter.

The South is not enough though. Cruz cannot win Rust-belt Midwestern states. And again, Cruz did not even beat Trump in the South! He's simply not a national candidate, who will win equal or lessor states that Romney won in 2012.

Cruz actually understands how elections work. Trump does not.

That's a non-sequitur. Trump is bringing new voters into his campaign and into the GOP.

He thinks anytime he loses the game is rigged. There are rules throughout the process— including the general.

Part of that is political. Trump traded the CO delegates for decisive wins in the NE. So, he's playing politics byrailing against the machine.

Who is going to sit down and explain the electoral college system to Trump?

No one needs to. Trump has won the optics and cemented his role as an outsider.

Yeah, I’m conservative and I want the guy who handed out teddy bears to illegals, who voted for the Corker bill that turned the constitution on it’s head so Obama could give Iran 150 billion plus a nuke, the guy who was for amnesty before he suddenly was against it, the guy who wanted to increase H1-B visas, the guy who was born in Canada who unlike Obama can’t even claim to be born here, the guy who has an excuse for every rotten vote he’s made. Yeah.

The convention process begins with “precinct mass meetings” in each county. Delegates are then elected to the county convention. From there, delegates are elected to the district convention.

No one needs to. Trump has won the optics and cemented his role as an outsider.

Trump remains the underdog. The guy's winning, and yet he remains the underdog. Cruz ought to be the underdog at this point, yet he's not.

Is the Boston Globe a stealth Trump supporter? They put Trump's biggest campaign pledge on the most sincere section of their paper - in their front page headline. Then they put Trump's picture right below it. All of that on their front page, above the fold, FOR FREE. Although people who read the fine print might get the "joke" how many people just glance at the headline and picture before they jump to the Sports Section or the Obits? Does the Globe not know its own readers?

Then there's the #nevertrump crowd. You'd think for appearance's sake they'd throw Trump a crumb or two in Colorado and Wyoming. But, no, nothing less than a total complete 100% victory Communist style will do.

Such in your face results just make people angry. The #nevertrump politicians have to know this. Ergo the #nevertrump crowd must also be stealth Trump supporters.

And that's how Trump remains the underdog.

The corker bill is anti Iran.

Cruz opposes Iran more than trump. I doubt trump could find Iran on a map.

Jose Medellin doesn’t agree with your illegals argument

Trump uses h1bs to fill his jobs

Cruz actually opposes them.

Cruz is a natural born citizen. More than half a dozen state elections have ruled on this stupid false allegation.

The Corker bill turned the constitution upside down as to how treaties are approved. The “principled constitutional conservative” voted for this - with excuses of course.

I don’t care what Jose Medellin thinks - Cruz has been qute deceptive about his position on amnesty - he’s for sale to the globalists...with more excuses.

Trump hires people? He gives them jobs???? Does Cruz - errr..no but then why did he propose that huge increase in H1-B visas - it couldn’t be because he’s for sale to globalists could it?

More than half a dozen state elections RULED that Cruz is a natural born citizen? Ummmm please explain how 6+ elections ruled that the Canadian is a natural born citizen.

The question of his citizenship has been challenged all across America from New Jersey to Illinois

State election boards have all ruled he is eligible to run and the accusations are without merit.

You don’t know who Jose Medellin is that trumps your globalists immigration nonsense

Conservative ain't cutting it. We want results. What have conservatives done since 1994?

Very good insight. I haven't been able to understand the level of animus that some Trump voters feel the need to direct at Cruz and his supporters. Your observation explains a lot, and it's a fair criticism to level at the 'movement' conservatives: we (and I include myself in this) have been on a long losing streak since Reagan. We've been so hardworking, so earnest, and so....losing. We carried the petitions to pass prop 187, and then watched it go down in flames. We lobbied for HR 4437, and saw that fail as well. I could go on, but I won't, it's too depressing.

So I get it. People are angry, heck, I'm angry, but here's the thing: if conservatism has failed, and the movement has foundered on the rocks, what's next? The alt-right kids are barely distinguishable from the Bernie brownshirts, at least from where I sit. There must be something, because it appears that it's insufficient for Trump to merely win, his conservative opposition must be destroyed. Gonna be interesting.

It’s interesting to me that everyone wants to identify with the conservative brand, but but at the same time want to re-define it to suit the needs of the moment.

In California, Cruz sewed up “movement” conservative support almost unopposed. Going to be an interesting couple of months.
