HUGE: Ted Cruz Earns FOUR Critical California Endorsements!
Red State ^ | April 22, 2016 | Caleb Howe

Posted on 04/22/2016 5:50:51 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Today the Cruz campaign announced the endorsements of former Chairmen of the California Republican Party John S. Herrington and Tirso del Junco. They join former CRP Chairmen Ron Nehring and Michael Schroeder on the Cruz team

From the campaign statement:

“As a member of President Reagan’s cabinet, I’ve seen first-hand how a great leader can change the course of our nation. Ted Cruz is the proven conservative leader our country needs to lead us to prosperity once again,” said Herrington.

John S. Herrington served as President Reagan’s Assistant Secretary of the Navy from 1981-83, Deputy Assistant for Presidential Personnel from 1983-85, and Secretary of Energy for Reagan’s entire second term. Herrington then served as Chairman of the California Republican Party (CRP) from 1995-97.

“I am 100% behind Ted Cruz for President. As a fellow Cuban American, I believe he will lead the country back to the Reagan revolution,” said Del Junco.

All four of them will be delegates for Cruz. If you don’t think that this is a big deal, think again. The support of these California Republicans will not only speak to the voters, it shows that Cruz’s campaign knows the state, knows its Republicans, and knows how to navigate the waters.

As we have seen in every state so far, save for maybe New York, the Trump campaign knows nothing about the politics or the voters or the issues that matter to them. He gets talking points fed to him and he regurgitates them on stage. Ted Cruz knows the actual people. In every state. The way a President should.

This comes after last week’s announcement of the support of 50 current and former California Republican elected officials.

Why wouldn’t the GOPe endorse their own patsy?

Seriously! Cruz getting endorsed by the Republican party! If anything this will make his poll numbers go down.

This is funny...the first comment to this article on RedState.

“I’m a Republican voter in CA. The only one of those people I’ve ever heard of is Nehring. Who they endorse is meaningless to me. I can make my own choices. I don’t need party hacks to tell me who to vote for.”

I don't recall Reagan stealing any delegates.

In all seriousness, it’s amazing what a promising career Ted has thrown away. Not only will he not win the nomination, but he’s been branded as Lyin’ Ted forever. He will forever be seen as a conniving, untrustworthy politician. One of the biggest flameouts in political history. All because of unbridled ambition. He may not even get reelected in 2018

Wow! Four more votes for Cruz!

Only 1,999,996 more, and he’ll catch Trump! Whoopee!

This is the man who tried to kill the Tea Party. Ted hired him as his National Spokes-Traitor.

Endorsements for what? A contested convention?

Pass on that.

This is about the only time the remains of the CA Republican party can have an impact on the nation and on CA. The only way to do it is to vote for Trump. That way, and only that way, CA might get rid of the “sanctuary cities” and the horde of illegal aliens they send to the polls in every election to steal America from real Americans. No other candidate offers even a hope of that.

Poll: Trump crushing Cruz by 27 points in California
By Mark Hensch

Donald Trump commands a formidable 27-point lead in California over Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), according to a new poll.

Trump receives 49 percent to Cruz’s 22 percent in the Fox News survey released Friday.

Gov. John Kasich (R-Ohio) ranks last with 20 percent ahead of California’s GOP presidential primary on June 7.

Fox News conducted its latest sampling of 583 likely GOP presidential primary voters in California from April 18-21. It has a margin of error of 4 points.

Trump leads Cruz by 15 points heading towards the Golden State’s voting contest, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average of polls .

His lead is much smaller nationwide, however, with Cruz trailing the Republican presidential front-runner by just below 10 points.

Newbie — when you rise to attain 1/10 the accomplishments of Tirso del Junco, you may be critical of him. Your knee jerk lash at him is unAmerican. It’s people like you judging others with no knowledge that make me nauseous.

Take a peek at his Wikipedia page. As I said, please feel free to educate me what you have accomplished compared to him. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tirso_del_Junco

I hope I can have the impact he has had on others. Have a nice day.

Too bad establishment endorsements won’t do him any good because he’s so far behind in the polls and will be even lower after next week. Also, political endorsements haven’t exactly panned out for Cruz, or anyone really, so far this year.

The border patrol endorsing Trump was much more significant, as they’ve never endorsed a candidate before ever.

Last I saw, Fox had a poll: Trump 49/Cruz 22/Kasich 20. But, hey, Cruz has a former GOP State Chairman behind him! And somebody else, too.

The GOPe’s want the same thing as you and Cruz.

A contested convention. Does that not raise some red flags to you?
