Not a Single Republican Delegate Is ‘Bound’ to Donald Trump
National Review ^ | David French

Posted on 06/10/2016 3:45:44 AM PDT by ErikJohnsky

Let’s begin with a simple proposition: As a matter of law and history, there is not a single “bound” delegate to the Republican National Convention. Not one delegate is required to vote for Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, or any other individual who “won” votes in the primary process. Each delegate will have to make his or her own choice. They — and they alone — will choose the Republican nominee.

Americans are not bound to phoney “conservatives”
who deserve tar and feathering (at least).

Kristol and his “Standard”, NR and all its little ghouls, and the GOPe are all just begging for a real war.

If these delegates do not vote the way they were intended to vote, we will see the biggest tarring-and-feathering event one could imagine.

The GOPe is deranged.

The truth hurts. The whole primary process is pretty much a sham. It will be interesting to see what happens on the first ballot.

So writing this trash is what Mr. French considers more honorable than being Mr. Kristol’s spoiler third party candidate?

Looks like a real war will be needed if America is to have any chance of survival with the likes of the “rulers” we have over us now. Read here. http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/3438697/posts

Trump is the only real American standing in this race now and the sycophants in the media want to get rid of him, fast.

And there’s not a single thing that keeps us from declaring him President right now, declaring Philadelphia the capitol again, declaring DC a giant Roach Motel, and letting the Army decide whether they want the Constitution or the Socialist Horde.

How foolish do.you want to be? Enough to go out with your gray matter scattered on a wall? It would have happened long ago in other countries. “Treason” is not a page torn out of our dictionary...it is there in big, bold letters. Flashing neon, in fact.

RNC convention rule 16(a)(2) says otherwise. It says that faithless delegates will be punished for violating state rules if they try to vote against a bound candidate .

(2) For any manner of binding or allocating delegates under these rules, if a delegate (i) casts a vote for a presidential candidate at the national convention inconsistent with the delegate’s obligation under state law or state party rule, (ii) nominates or demonstrates support under Rule No. 40 for a presidential candidate other than the one to whom the delegate is bound or allocated under state law or state party rule, or (iii) fails in some other way to carry out the delegate’s affirmative duty under state law or state party rule to cast a vote at the national convention for a particular presidential candidate, the delegate shall be deemed to have concurrently resigned as a delegate and the delegate’s improper vote or nomination shall be null and void. Thereafter the secretary of the convention shall record the delegate’s vote or nomination in accordance with the delegate’s obligation under state law or state party rule. This subsection does not apply to delegates who are bound to a candidate who has withdrawn his or her candidacy, suspended or terminated his or her campaign, or publicly released his or her delegates.

This subsection is about enforcing state binding rules. It says at the top that a delegate who does not vote as the state directed them to will be discharged, and their vote will be recorded as the state initially directed.

Convention rules specifically DO enforce state binding rules.

The three card monte dealer in Times Square is more honest then the GOPe.

For years they have controlled the process and the voters only thought they had a choice.

Here comes Trump, they have no control over him, their pre-selected candidate does not win, so they say, does not matter, we will allow the delegates decide who will represent the Republicans.

Once again, the Republican party has been exposed as a fraud. We now know why even when the voters send a majority to congress, the liberal agenda keeps moving ahead.

We need a third party.

Likewise, there are no delegates bound to NOT vote for Trump.
Methinks there will be a surprising number that will vote Trump.

The GOP would not be stupid enough to thwart the will of the peole. No, I think that this is just a fantasy piece from a Bill Kristol bootlicker meant to be another hit piece on Trump.

The underlying goal of the #antiTrump traitors want Hillary to win. So, they will run hit piece after hit piece, regardless of how true or realistic the article is. What we should do is (1) cancel any subscriptions to Weekly Standard, National Review, Levin TV and all other #neverTrump writers/supporters and (2) anytime they show up on TV, call and complain.
