That poll showing Clinton leading in Utah? It doesn’t exist.
The Washington Post's The Fix ^ | August 2, 2016 | Philip Bump

The only fitting way for the 2016 campaign to end, after all of the tumult and bizarreness that we've seen over the past 20 months, is for there to be some dramatic result on Election Day. An electoral college tie, maybe. Or a total blowout. Something interesting, anyway. It's got to happen, right?

This, I suspect, is part of the reason that people have seized on a report from a Salt Lake City CBS affiliate about a new poll in the deep-red state of Utah. The surprising/exciting finding? Hillary Clinton has a 1-point lead in the state.

Imagine that! Utah going blue for the first time since 1964. Now that's the sort of thing that we'd expect to see in this bizarre, wacky year....

Not only that, it NEVER existed...the polls in Utah were Bernie and Ted...then Trump and then Hillary...

Now the delegates are behind Trump, the Sanders delegates I don’t know, haven’t heard if they are voting for Trump or just not voting...

My sources in the Mormon church say they are being told to support Clinton.
Even very conservative voters are voting Clinton.
Oh and it has nothing to do with Cruz or the GOP-e

Interesting how we read all of these statistics saying Hillary's got the lead, blah, blah, blah. Then, in the second-to-last sentence, we read:

In an email to The Washington Post, the Tribune's Dan Harrie confirmed that there in fact wasn't a new survey from the paper.

This is insane.

It’s definitely not the GOPe and Ted Cruz. (It is.)

Let me guess. Because he’s divorced, and Melania’s photos, and he’s not polite?

It is insane and unspeakably wicked.

$h!t-for-brains.

It’s probably because of Melania’s photos.

Why? Mormons on their own plantations, too?

It might have something to do with Romney. I don’t know if he has any influence with other Mormons.

I work in a really liberal environment in Utah. I have seen ZERO Hillary bumper stickers or regalia. Lots of Bernie, lots of leftover bambi, NO Hillary.

Trump will win in a landslide.
Dems are hoping it will be close enough to steal, but it won’t be.

My thoughts are that there are more white middle-income folks in Utah that don't like being subjudicated to government handouts of welfare, WIC and Medicaid, any more than the rest of us!

FYI, many of these same folks didn't vote for Romney either!

Not all of Utah is Mormon and not all Mormons slavishly follow their leadership, especially in areas of their pocketbooks!

If you want to see how diverse Mormons are, look at Harry Reid, Orin Hatch and Mike Lee!

We haven’t been told anything like that. At our house we are voting Trump and encouraging others to do the same based on the supreme court alone.
