In the battleground state of Nevada, Republican Donald Trump is now slightly leading Democrat Hillary Clinton in the race to the White House. Thats according to a new poll by Monmouth University. Our reporter Anh Gray has the details.
(AUDIO-AT-LINK)
Trump leads Clinton 44 to 42 percent and continues to be ahead with mostly white and male voters.

Its within the margins of error, but it shows what weve seen from previous polls over the last few weeks that Nevada is really, really close. I cant stress enough how close it is.
Richardson says new poll numbers could indicate that many Nevadans are weary of career politicians.
You look at whats happened in Nevada over the last eight yearsthe hardest hit by the real estate crisis. No state was hit harder. I think you have a real kind of disdain for politics as usual, and Clinton is kind of seen as the politics as usual, whereas Trump is the quintessential non-politician.
Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson received just eight percent in the poll.
no wonder Reid was out in full force today
If Trump locks down NV, he won’t need NM although it would be great if he had both of them.
In 2012, Obama beat Romney by 7% in Nevada. Assuming this poll is accurate, that’s a 9 point swing in favor of freedom from one election to the next.
Note: While Trump has momentum, and while voters have a reason to listen with an open mind, I hope he will make an all-out push to attract new voters. This is the time for that effort. He can’t wait until the news adjusts to how well he is doing, nor can he wait until after early voting has started in more states. I don’t think he should even worry about Hillary withdrawing (no chance if she’s alive, and she probably made living through this election a precondition when she sold whatever tiny fraction of a soul she might once have had).
Battleground state? Why would Nevada be problem for Trump? Seems like people like Sheldon Adelson, Steve Wynn, et. al., would be in Trump’s corner in a big way. A booming economy would certainly be in their interest.
Or is the desert sun frying half the electorate’s brains?
SEIU. Whatever they now call ACORN. Las Vegas is heavy union territory.
There are enough democrats in Las Vegas to cancel out the votes of everyone else in the state.
No mention of the “conservative savior” Egg McMuffin.
Seeing many of the polls begin to swing in Mr. Trump’s favor has me looking over my shoulder. The Dims will do anything - ANYTHING - to win, and seeing their chances slowly fading will drive them to desperation. Hence, we’re seeing a revival of “birther” blather, comments about Trump’s weight, etc. They’ll throw anything at him to see what sticks.
Stand strong Mr. Trump! We’ve got your back.
Kalifornia transplants. Big issue.
This is the same poll as the one we discussed Wednesday, yes?
Johnson won’t crack 2% in actual voting.
No Libertarian ever has, IIRC.
Libertarians do best when they face only one opponent from one of the two big parties.
I never vote for any Libertarian so as not to encourage this method of splitting votes from conservatives.
