India would be an excellent counterbalance to Chinese expansionism. If India can continue to continue to deal with bureaucratic corruption and remove economic obstacles (Modi’s “Thatcherite Revolution”), I can see India economically overtaking the People’s Republic of China.

Hindus I know love Trump, because they have seen the face of radical Islam up close and personal. Some I know even emigrated to the US to escape the divisive influence of Islam in India (near borders to Pakistan/Bangladesh).
It is interesting to consider the historical context of India...they practically invited the Brits into India in the 1600’s, because they were, at the time, under the repressive thumb of Islam’s Mughal Empire and were looking to throw off the yoke.

Modi and Trump had more similarities than Obama. Modi was trashed by his own party members for his anti Islamist stance. UK and USA revoked Modi's visa during Bush regime, Hillary came out against Modi. UN want to prosecute him. Left hates Modi in India. Despite all that Modi gave his speech from India through Skype and watched by India. That was middle finger to Bush and Hillary. 3 yrs back, he won election with landslide. Gave shock wave to rest of world. Don't mess with Modi. Modi visit to US and UK was middle finger to those who were behind all hatred toward him. Modi is also Made in India, first India. He is as shrewd as Trump. They are made for each other, both love their own country and heritage. Modi is bachelor.

Trump mentioned that Indians have the highest rate of educational attainment AND the highest highest rate of business formation, of any immigrant group. India is a natural ally against communist China and islamic terrorists.
