To: justlurking

Is that to say that those not in line at the precise closing time are prohibited from voting? Apparently not in NV. So it may be state-to-state? The not-in-line metric provides wiggle room, imho. I have not heard of any polls turning away voters who show up “late”.

I'm not sure if it was this thread, but another FReeper who was a poll watcher in Arkansas told his story.

Every voter that arrived after the closing time was challenged. Under the law, the ballot apparently has to be set aside. In the ensuing court case, the judge threw out the challenged ballots.

It was enough to change the outcome of some local races.
