The word on everyones lips in Washington now in newsrooms and advocacy groups, in congressional offices and embassies is firehose. As in the high-pressure stream of White House orders. The daily deluge of Donald Trumps tweets blaming so-called judges for future terror attacks and assailing Nordstrom for dropping his daughters clothing line for poor sales. The tsunami of statements inflating the murder rate and hyping the terrorist threat, while aides mind-bendingly blame the media for not covering massacres in Bowling Green and Atlanta that never happened. With each new volley, drinking from the Trump firehose feels ever more like being drowned by a water cannon.
Perhaps thats precisely the intent: Disrupt, distract, dissipate, and drown out independent voices and inconvenient realities while fulfilling his agenda with an eager Republican Congress. Critics and the press chase their tails in a tizzy, while Trumps executive orders get signed and cabinet picks get confirmed, one by one.
Jeb Bush was prescient when he said Trump was a chaos candidate and hed be a chaos president. That chaos seems both intentional and strategic, and it serves three purposes: functionally, disrupt the system; politically, signal the base that hes delivering; tactically, overwhelm opponents and discredit arbiters of the facts like the media and experts (whom Trump considers the opposition), making their jobs impossible. Are you sick and tired of winning yet?
In three weeks, its hard to keep track. There was the reversal of environmental and financial regulations, including those protecting retirement accounts from conflicts of interest by brokers; the presidents threats to the judiciary that even his Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch yesterday called disheartening; the unprecedented National Security Council rejiggering to give a seat to Stephen Bannon, Trumps political strategist with ties to white supremacists, displacing top intelligence and military officials....

Trump is going a little bit Alinsky in his methods. I like it when our side does it.
Trump is already having a major impact on ridding the US of the useless Somalis within your midst. They are streaming into Canada in spite of the frigid temperatures. The Spring will see a veritable flood across the 49th parallel as the muzzles are joined by thousands of Mexican illegals fleeing Trump’s America. Trump and America are winning, but we poor saps in Canada are going to be the biggest losers.
These writers are idiots...they quote a few facts thinking that their analysis is complete. She says Trump is going too fast for the media fact checkers...a snail is too fast for them...all they look for is factoids that bolster their “enlightened” political fantasie...hey Indira ..we are sick of your quasifactual propaganda, and your colleagues...you are incompetent as truth reporters...try and do something beneficial to ALL.I mean really do it...right now you’re useless..for you “30 dollars pays the rent”
Trump noticed that some of the Dims’ most effective ploys was to bombard us with protests/propaganda, etc. - he’s beating them at their own game by staying so busy they don’t know whether to fight or flee - and it appears he has more stamina and drive than they do...
It pained me to read that. I'm sure it pained the BC to pen it! Embrace the suck BC!
Hehe...did I not tell you long ago that Trump would do exactly what he said he would? We’re watching it daily and he’s moving faster than I expected. The day after the election he hit the ground in overdrive and hasn’t slowed down yet. It’s taking a while to get his cabinet confirmed, but he’s still making more progress than any president in the last 75 years.
Yes, he’s in complete control. He knows exactly what he’s doing, and tweeting away to let the people know he’s still not forgetting them all the while.
The Democratic party is in free fall, destroying themselves as fast as they can, thinking they are fighting against Trump. He’s moving so fast they can’t keep up, I can hardly turn the TV off, I’m afraid I might miss something things are happening so fast. I can’t wait to see how many more seats they lose in 2018.
As I’ve said many times, buckle up, it’s going to be a bumpy ride...
And ummm...never underestimate Donald Trump...
