What we see here is a prime example of leftist revisionism. Transgenders never have been allowed in the military, and Obama's parting shot to further damage the military was to issue an executive order that "transgenders" would be allowed. This policy has never been enacted. And now that Trump has said it will not be enacted, the leftists are acting as if they've been there all along and now Trump is unfairly kicking them out.
This is much like the chicanery that got gays into the military. Bill Clinton gave them a way in through the "don't ask don't tell" policy, and when Obama changed the policy to allow them to join openly, the leftist press described it as "overturning" the don't ask don't tell policy (as if gays had always joined openly until Bill Clinton made them hide), instead of correctly describing Obama's action as expanding the policy of allowing gays in the military.
