Trump was on the menu at annual Labor Day breakfast in Boston

Kicking off the political campaign season, Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh denounced President Trump’s policies at Monday’s annual Labor Day breakfast, saying Trump has turned his back on working families.

But as he took aim at the White House, Walsh also had some choice words for union members who showcase their labor connection on the back of their cars alongside Trump bumper stickers.

“Those union numbers stand for something,’’ said Walsh, highlighting the gains labor has made through the years. “They stand for healthcare; they stand for pensions and annuities; they stand for the rights and protections [of workers] ... they stand for the people who came before you.”

Walsh, a Democrat and former labor leader, was among a short list of state political leaders who spoke at the annual breakfast, held by the Greater Boston Labor Council. Before a packed ballroom, speakers called on unions to unify in opposition to Trump and fight to protect affordable health insurance and a higher minimum wage. They also voiced support for a federal program that shields unauthorized immigrants who came to the country as children from deportation.....

Since when are unions pro-illegal immigration and one million jobs lost to young illegals?

When the unions organize lawn crews, this country is toast.

The typical labor union is dead. The initial organization of unions was all American to protect the American worker and to fight for American worker rights. The globalist, open borders,pro-illegal alien union whores are not very transparent. They make connecting dots much easier in understanding why the GOP sucks. I think they have strayed and are imploding EXCEPT for the GD government and teacher unions which are obscene.

When was Obama ever on the menu? And was there anyone with the intestinal fortitude and a wallet, fat enough to purchase, and stomach the dish?

It was like my parents said, and Ronald Reagan said:

They are out of touch with the rank and file

Decades later . . .still

“Labor” means the unions, not the people who work. The unions kiss democrat a$$, give the dems much money, and get special laws passed that favor unions. None of this helps employees.

Dems spend “Labor” day kissing union a$$, and performing various other physical favors for them that shall go unposted here.

The hierarchy of the major unions are just a peevish lot, storming and raging at Trump for painting a picture of prosperity and plenty. No union in the history of the United States has EVER been on the side of general prosperity, because once the magic of reward for productivity on the job passes its aura over the individual worker, there is no longer any obvious need for unions.

Scarcity is the stock that the left uses to gain its objectives, whether it is because of a genuine bottleneck somewhere in the supply chain, or because of artificial scarcities created by overregulation or abusive taxation. Unblocking the bottlenecks, or reducing the artificial restrictions on the operation of the rewards for productivity (usually registered as higher wages and/or take-home pay for the individual), causes these people to question the need for a labor union for any purpose.

Working families = Union thugs

Just like:

Reproductive rights = abortion on demand

Good, 2ndDiv! You detected the massive hole in their argument! I guess the only way to explain it is that even allowing illegals to take away union jobs is fine — as long as a it stops Trump.

Still makes no sense... We know stubborn and tough union types who toe the Dem line are not snowflakes. Maybe they are dense hail, the size of golf balls that falls and destroys crops. A lot of thick skulls in that crowd.

Tom Brady should have showed up in that meeting. Then the mayor couldn’t say a darn thing...

The unions have turned their backs on their workers and that is why Trump won.

Marty Walsh is nothing but a big dope. He will be indicted eventually. Also I can’t count the number of union friends that voted for Trump. They are all fed up with constant cries of racism, illegals everywhere they look. Marty telling them that Boston is a sanctuary city and they can stay at city hall if they need to. Cost of sending their kids to college, ect.
