If Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam enters the race he would immediately become a leading contender for the seat Corker has held since 2006
Gov. Bill Haslam said Thursday he is considering a U.S. Senate run, leaving the door open for the Knoxville Republican to take the post Bob Corker is vacating.
Haslam made the comment after an event Thursday morning.
"It merits spending some time thinking about it and praying about it," Haslam told reporters.
The governor said he's talked to Corker about the idea in recent days, adding that he had fully expected the U.S. senator to run for a third term.
Haslam may not be loved or liked among conservatives, but more than conservatives vote. We don’t need to go into this with tinted glasses. This poll/article gives reason for pause about his popularity among the general populace.
Just watch, there will be an abundance of ‘Conservative’ candidates to split the anti RINO vote.
No more east Tennessee rinos. I wonder at times if Haslam is not a muzzie.
Joe Carr would be my pick. I really like Marsha Blackburns politics, but east Tennessee has this great love affair for rinos. I don’t think she can win it
