WikiLeaks deflected attention from crude Trump's groping case: Hillary

Hillary Clinton on Monday accused WikiLeaks of working with Russia to deflect attention away from an infamous tape of Donald Trump bragging about groping women in the run-up to the US presidential election.

The former secretary of state's devastating election loss to Trump remains raw and she again lashed out at WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and his alleged role in damaging her candidacy.

"Assange has become a kind of nihilistic opportunist who does the bidding of a dictator," she said in an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, referring to Russian president Vladimir Putin.

"WikiLeaks is unfortunately now practically a fully-owned subsidiary of Russian intelligence."

The US intelligence community concluded Putin ordered an influence campaign to discredit Clinton and had a "clear preference" for Trump in last year's poll.

Clinton used the bombshell Trump tape as an example of how WikiLeaks allegedly tried to deflect attention away from a bad news story, resurrecting the incident in the wake of Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein's fall from grace over his treatment of women.

In the 2005 videotape, which surfaced in October last year, Trump brags about being able to get away with groping women.

Trump said the comments were "locker-room banter". Several women subsequently accused him of sexual misconduct, which he denounced as lies.

Within hours of the tape emerging, WikiLeaks published more than 2,000 hacked emails from the personal account of Clinton's campaign chair John Podesta, which she said blunted its impact.

"WikiLeaks, which in the world in which we find ourselves promised hidden information, promised some kind of secret that might be of influence, was a very clever, diabolical response to the Hollywood Access tape," she said, referring to the Trump recording.

"And I've no doubt in my mind that there was some communication if not coordination to drop those the first time in response to the Hollywood Access tape."

Clinton claimed WikiLeaks' actions were motivated by Assange's personal dislike of her.

"I had a lot of history with him because I was secretary of state when WikiLeaks published a lot of very sensitive information from our State Department and our Defence Department," she said.

"If he's such a martyr of free speech, why doesn't WikiLeaks ever publish anything coming out of Russia? You don't see damaging, negative information coming out about the Kremlin on Wikileaks," Clinton added.

Australian Assange, who has spent five years inside the Ecuador embassy in London to avoid extradition to Sweden on sexual assault charges, has denied Russia was the source behind the leaked documents.

I agree we are under attack, but I don't see why that would be reason to avoid discussing and boycotting the NFL and Hollywood.

If anything, they're part of the attack you mention, and cutting off their money only helps our cause.

That video came out just before the second debate, and Trump’s performance in the second debate is what did the witch in; the debate did the deflection if any were needed.

So she's admitting her campaign released the "Access Hollywood" tape?

"Waaah - Wikileak's release deflected from our release - we're the ones who are supposed to control the narrative - waaah!

Assange had announced for weeks he was releasing his emails that Friday. Hillary moved the access tape up from monday to friday. So she was the one trying to deflect.

It's always been my theory that the original plan was to release the "Access Hollywood" the weekend before the election. This would ensure maximum coverage in the media, while leaving the Trump campaign with no time to respond before election day. Hillary was feeling the heat over her email server, coupled with the Wikileaks revelations, so they were forced to release the tape a few weeks earlier than planned in an effort to deflect attention away from Hillary.

Yup.

About those tapes and Billy Dumbbutt Bush, there are so many loose women and gigolos in LA, that sex becomes a commodity.

Donald Trump was a prime target and was boasting to young useless vacuous Billy who was egging him on. But importantly Donald admitted that he backed away when he was rebuffed.

Is Donald a Saint? No.

Is Donald disrespectful of women in general? No.

Is Rosey O’Donnell a fat pig? No. She’s not a fat pig, she’s a STINKIN’ fat pig!

Call me a misogynist Hillary!

Your theory makes perfect sense. They released early and probably Trump owes Assange...and probably Seth Rich.

Why do you suppose no women have complained of assault by Donald Trump?

There is no “groping case”.

He made an “uh huh” type statement to the reporter to be agreeable. That was it. No case.

The people behind the NFL kneeling campaign and Hollywood are indeed our enemies in the war for the American people’s minds, but many don’t realize the battle is on the wrong level.

They think just keeping the athletes from kneeling, or just getting Hollywood idiots savants to stop criticizing, is the problem. It isn’t. In fact, the discussion dominating the media is proof that the problem exists. They are flooding our minds with trivia so we can’t think about what is happening in the world.

Assange may not be the best guy for her to hurl aspersions at.

That "Sore Loserman" stuff happened while the result of the election was still up in the air.

If my memory is right, Gore went away after Bush was inaugurated.

Felonia von Pantsuit needs to be locked in a room with all the women her husband raped, harassed and molested.

Issue them all nail-studded baseball bats.

If their plan is to take my attention away from other issues, they are failing. I find that not spending my time or money on their product requires very little effort that does not take me away from other issues.

In fact, it gets easier all the time.

I was using the word “our” loosely, I guess. Freepers are very concerned about the world and nothing can pry them loose.

No, I meant the general public, and that is an entirely different animal, with fewer hours on the Internet and fewer brain cells. But unfortunately most people fit that category
