Rep. Martha McSally appears poised to challenge Kelli Ward in what would be a vicious primary fight for Jeff Flake’s Senate seat, but President Donald Trump remains a major wild card.
Rep. Martha McSally is taking steps toward launching a challenge to Kelli Ward for Sen. Jeff Flake's seat next year, a move that would set up another scorched-earth primary battle between establishment Republicans and former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon.
The second-term congresswoman indicated her interest in the seat during a closed-door meeting Thursday with Arizona's five-member GOP House delegation, and also met Thursday with Sen. John McCain to consult about a statewide contest, an Arizona Republican with knowledge of the situation says. Even before that, she began polling her prospects.

And President Trump needs to make sure he’s not manipulated by McConnell & others into supporting the Never-Trumper RINO McSally. If he supports any primary candidate, it needs to be Kelli Ward who was the major factor in Never Trumper Flake’s decision not to run for re-election.

McSally’s big GOPe bucks won’t help her against Dr. Ward. She lost a primary to tea party Republican Jesse Kelly in 2012 in spite of massive GOPe support.

Met with McTraitor, she’s running bet the farm. How many millions will Mitch and the boys spend to destroy Ward like they tried with Moore? AZ isn’t ALABAMA so it might work. Or failing that they could damage her enough to allow the Rat to win. Trump supported Ward let’s hope he stays there.
