Whatever.
The Bush’s book, “The Last Republicans” might be well named, in the sense they where the leaders of the GOPe, and RINOs.
Thankfully, that era is gone. It started on January 20th, 1989 (BTW, I witnessed that first hand as a volunteer military escort) and got trounced by Clinton/Perot because we were told to read his lips... and he lied. Then Bob Dole took up the RINO mantle, and promptly lost to the tag team once more. Four years later, we elected the LAST successful RINO.
Both ULTRA RINOs McCain and Romney couldn’t even beat a avowed anti-American Marxist/Racist!
So along comes Trump. Says NO! to everything the RINOs stand for. Fights back, hard. Never gives up. Enemy of the RINOs AND the democrats.
So fine. Let’s not lose a minute of sleep over the Bush condemnation.
It is, in my opinion, a badge of Honor for President Trump.
He CARES about the American worker, not the Politically Correct Offshore-building CEO. He cares for the American worker, not the pro-illegal labor Chamber of Commerce.
There is a dividing line in conservatism. Pro “We the People”, or pro “We the 1% elite”.
It’s been there since Bush 1 took the reins for “We the People” Ronald Reagan.
Who should conservatives stand with?
This very much reminds me of the thread Lazamataz wrote a couple of years ago about the People versus the Elites.
As he so aptly described, “the American People” versus “the global elites” is the TRUE dividing line in today’s American politics—not the dem versus GOP.
That’s why the Bushes hate Donald Trump. That’s why the NEVERTRUMPERS exist as they do. That’s why the Swamp is so hard to drain. That’s why the Justice Department is going after the gnat of Russian collusion in Donald Trump’s eye versus the C-5 Galaxy cargo plane of corruption, murder and scandal in Hillary Clinton’s eye.
Laz, you should update and repost that thread! Please!
I was guarding then Vice President Bush’s plane and motorpool at the Des Moines airport at night while working for Al Haig during the day.
